making family visitors a different category with a set document list it might mean fewer refusals. that's also what i thought. i'm hoping they can grant longer stay for 'SPONSORED FAMILY VISITORS' than 3 months for the normal visitors as well. a return ticket from asia can easily cost you hundreds ...

just read through the official BIA visitor visa consultation paper. it seems the BIA is consulting if they should create a brand new separate category called 'SPONSORED FAMILY VISITORS' which might be different from the normal visitor visa. here's the consultation question: 'Do you think a separate ...

thanks, JAJ. if 1-2 months, it'll do us, although only just. fingers crossed.

we didn't get him a passport, therefore no ILR for him. we thought it could save us a little hassle and money. but now it has brought us a little annoyance instead. his literally official nationality now is chinese.

waiting time for british citizen registration of minors

i submitted my son's registration application through NCS last week. my son is 14 months old and was born in the UK. both my wife and i now have the ILR. i checked some previous threads and found it took at least 2-3 months for a naturalisation case. because we're planning some trips towards the end...

all the very best, timefactor.

told you, mondays are always the most difficult, then it's getting easier through the week. mine was also on a tuesday.

for a straight forward case, there's nothing to worry about. just get all the stuff ready, then go to collect your ILR.

there're always plenty reasons that people want to spend half a day and a couple of hundreds quids more to get an instant decision, with getting passports back quickly and safely and not being able to bear the up-to-2-months uncertainty being two of the most popular reasons. one of my friend's depen...

myself and a few of my friends came through exactly the same situation. the truth is the HO only allocates 4-5 appointment slots for the applicants with dependants in each office every day. they save considerable time for those applicants coming through "designated" solicitors. aparently t...

As much as I sympathise with the original poster, this is an issue for a family therapist, not an immigration lawyer. The OP has absolutely no chance of getting the BIA involved. There is no law against leaving your wife after obtaining indefinite leave to remain and the OP would be very very hard ...

i fail to see what the fuss is about. i suppose a student visa is a student visa. i don't know if there's a specific visa type called 'sandwhich course student visa'. if there's not, since the visa of the op's wife is still valid, how could she become illegal? my understanding is op's wife can apply...

let's face it, SYH mate.

your statement, 'In Asia, people spit all the time on the street' is not accurate, is it?

and also it's kinda insult to all the asian people.

a reasonable apology is welcomed here. and this is my point and end of my posts in this thread. have a nice day.

And you know the spitting is very different in Asia than in the UK, in Asia, they are digging deep in the throat and stomach trying to eject the most nasty things. In the UK, when they spit, it is still nasty, don't get me wrong but its more just from mouth and nose. so the british government shoul...

so, you've been to japan, singapore, and also thailand, mailand china. and you're aware that those are all asian countries, but you still think 'In Asia, people spit all the time on the street'. that's fine. it simply gives us an example of how accurate your judgements are. btw, in singapore, if a t...

In Asia, people spit all the time on the street. They believe this keeps them healthy, even though it does the opposite. who told you that? where are you from? nonothing you are clearly trying to continue this nonsense of nitpicking everything I say. From where I am is irrelevant. If you have to kn...

need help, ILR form - section 6 - absences from the UK

in the form, it says: "give the dates of and reason(s) for the absences in the spaces below. List all absences, however short, including all of 3 months or more."

does it mean i need to list all absences or only those longer than 3 months?

cheers.
