Re: ILR path definitions

Thanks Char. Yes, I am on a Tier 2 General visa applying for ILR having spent five continuous years in the UK. On the forum, I’ve seen various paths (e.g. Set (O), Set (F), Set (M), etc.) so wasn’t sure which one applied to me!

ILR path definitions

Is anyone able to advise where I can find the ILR set definitions? I am trying to work out which path will apply to me.

Also, is there a minimum validity that you need on your passport when submitting your ILR application?

ILR applications through immigration lawyers

Hi there, does anybody know whether the HO are processing ILR applications for Tier 2 General, 5 year residency path, faster if they are submitted by an immigration lawyer? Alternatively, does anyone know when the super priority service might be reinstated?

Break in 5 years continuous entry

I have a Tier 2 Sponsored visa until Sept 2019 but may need to leave the UK and my employment for up to two months. If I was employed by another organisation after that those two months on another Tier 2 Sponsored visa, does the two month break effectively break my five years of continuous entry req...

Job titles and SOC codes

How important are job titles when selecting a SOC code? My duties are more akin to an RQF6 SOC code with a lower experienced salary threshold but my title is akin to an RQF6 SOC code with a higher threshold so which is the more critical; title or duties?

Re: Changing SOC codes

@cyclina1, thanks for this. I am staying in the same field, public affairs, but would be moving to the director-level SOC.

Changing SOC codes

Hi there. My organisation is about to undergo a restructure which may see my current position made redundant but a new, more senior role (as a director) created for me. From what I can gather, this will mean changing SOC codes but can someone confirm that this is the case? If so, does my employer ne...

Switching employers on Tier 2 General

Hi all, is it possible to switch employers on a Tier 2 General visa? I know that the new employer would need to undertake a RLMT; however, would I have to leave the country for 12 months to 'cool off' as I am already on a Tier 2 General visa?

Switching from T2 General to T5

Does anyone know if you the 12-month cooling off period applies when switching from a Tier 2 General visa (sponsored) to a Tier 5 International Agreement visa? I know that you have to leave the country to apply for the Tier 5 but do you have to leave the country for 12 months, as you have to if swit...

Re: Continuous period in the UK for ILR

@ozayh.malik, thanks. Just checking about the rest; that is, that I can spend 28 days a year (not including weekends) abroad on holidays. Is this right?

Continuous period in the UK for ILR

Hi all, I am on a Tier 2 General visa and would like to apply for ILR when the time comes. My understanding from the Home Office guidelines is that I must not spend more than 180 days in any 12 month period abroad in order to do this. Further, I cannot spend more than 28 days (within that 180 days t...

Switching from standard service to priority/premium service

All, Please help! I submitted my Tier 2 General extension visa application five weeks ago, and completed my BRP enrolment when I received my letter. This was via the standard postal service. I need to travel abroad next week and am trying to upgrade my application to the priority service or premium ...

Date of expiry of current leave

Can someone please tell me where I can find what this date is for myself? Is it the date on my BRP? My certificate of sponsorship is later than the date on my BRP so might that be the expiry date of my current leave? Any help would be appreciated!

CR001 wrote:You can extend your visa more than once. You will also have to pay the immigration health surcharge with each extension.

Can't answer your other questions, perhaps FrontieMole or Moonlight55 can.
Thanks CR001. Can you help with the rest FrontieMole or Moonlight55?

Extending my Tier 2 visa

Hi all. I am currently sponsored for 12 months on a Tier 2 General visa but my employer is happy to sponsor me again for a longer period. I know that I can't be sponsored for more than six years in total but can I only extend my visa once? Ideally, I would extend for two years, and then again for th...

Tier 2 - General extensions

Hi everyone, I can't seem to find the answer I am seeking on any gov.uk website so I thought I would try here. My question: Are you able to extend a Tier 2 - General visit in-country more than once? For example, although it would be expensive for both parties, could you extend your visa annually, up...

Re: Fixed penalty notice

Hi guys, I was recently issued a Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) for being drunk and disorderly in a public place. I may need to apply for a Tier 2 - General visa in the coming weeks pending the outcome of a job selection process and want to know whether the FPN will adversely affect any such application...
