Where u self-employed in your ILR & previous extension and what questions do they ask ?

Maintenance funds for ILR

Hi
I will be applying for ILR under Tier 1 General Route with my wife & 2kids I have a query. Do I have to have maintenance funds for 3 months as I did in tier 1 extensions. Please can anyone update me with correct guide as one of my friend said it's compulsory.
