As long as you can prove that you can live comfortably on what you have saved already and/or your current salary then it doesn't matter the exact sum you have. Obviously, the more money you have then the stronger the application. I believe that anyone who's sponsor earns more than 50k (if only!) aut...

Thanks Shivers. Is there any reason why you had to attend in person rather than apply by post or is it simply down to geographical location. Looks like i have all the documents that I need then in order to apply for the visa. Am I right in thinking that the visa will be valid for six months and allo...

I don't think it's vital to have your own place.....you just need some kind of suitable accomadation and that can be a room at your parents house too (just as long as it's not going to be overcrowded and you prove evidence that your parents give you permission for your husband to live there and that...

Hey All Just another headsup for anyone applying through Lahore. Always make sure that you are applying for the right visa. I know this sounds kind of stupid but when i submitted my papers at Gerry's office i informing the lady at the desk that i was applying for a spouse visa, she entered my detai...

Thanks for the replies guys. So just to clarify, I can make the application to the french embassy by post as I live in bournemouth and all I need to submit will be: my passport and my husbands passport (he's the applicant), translated and original marriage certicates, a cheque for 60 euros and the c...

Hiya Brit Chick First of all where do you live? Am I correct in assuming you are british? If you check out the french embassy website, if you live outside the encachment are you can post off your application. All they require is the application form, both your passports, two photo's and your marria...

Hope you are reunited with your spouse soon :)

Just wanted to say I had an answer back from the French Embassy about the application for my wife's visa to visit France. It's pasted below. I had to make an appointment on the telephone via their 0906 number. At 1 a minute, the call took 11 minutes to complete! Dear Sir/ Madam, Please consult o...

I wouldn't pay too much attention to what the Fed Ex website says.....it's not updated very often and much of the time they will have your passport and/or papers and you won't even know. I was lucky in that my husband lived in Islamabad at the time we submitted our application and so he used to drop...

Well the tenancy agreement you submit will have the date that the tenancy commenced on so the BHC will probably realise that the other documents were gathered before you commenced the tenancy, so it should be fine. By the way, when you submit the tenancy agreement then try and get a letter from the ...

I don't think submitting photographs are vital but they certainly help strengthen the application as they prove the couple has met and that a wedding took place etc etc. Is there any reason why you can't have even a couple of pics taken? They don't have to be professional pics......some of the photo...

Just to confirm that yes, it is possible to submit a fresh application while an appeal is still pending as I did recently in Islamabad. The fresh application was granted in around 8 weeks so it was far quicker than the lengthy appeal process.

As far as I know you're better off lodging it with the BHC in Islamabad cos if you send it to the AIT then you have to wait for them to send it to the BHC first before even considering it.

Well if you are submitting the appeal then you only need to submit the extra documents that relate to the points in the refusal. You needn't submit the whole application again, although it won't do any harm if you do....it just means extra photocopying for the AIT/BHC. I think the 28 days actually r...

Why not do both......submit the appeal for now and then in due course when you have all the extra evidence together file a fresh application.

My husband and I filed a fresh application in Islamabad with an appeal pending and the fresh application 'only' took just under 9 weeks to be processed.
