darn it, so that means we still have to go through the hassle of getting a schengen visa then :( I know it's free, but most embassies won't accept postal applications even though we reside in bournemouth which means both of taking a day off work and travelling up to london to get the visa - so not r...

Confirmation needed to set my mind at rest re Schengen Visas

I have browsed through threads on this forum as well as the relevant countries embassy websites and would just like confirmation that i am correct in thinking that my husband (pakistani national, now residing in UK with ILR) will not require a schengen visa if he was to go on holiday accompanied by ...

Very useful thread....looks like I'll be referring to it when it comes to booking our next holiday.

I understand Poland doesn't require those with ILR to apply for a visa, not sure if this is already mentioned in this thread.

The info on the website for england indicates that spouses of EU nationals do need to apply for a schengen visa.

I would go (especially for that price and because I hear Munich is lovely) but am worried that we won't even be able to get past check in let alone actually past immigration controls once in munich without a schengen visa. I have emailed the embassy to ask them to confirm this but not had any reply ...

That's certainly interesting, would be great if we didn't have to apply for a schengen visa to travel to france - I quite fancy another trip to Paris :D

Schengen visa for Poland if holder of ILR

Does my husband (who is a pakistani national with ILR) require a schengen visa to travel to poland on holiday? It seems from their embassy website that holders of ILR who are married to EU nationals do not require a visa, but this seems a little too good to be true - I'm used to being made to jump t...

My husband has had seven schengen visas issued in the past 18 months, two of which were issued once he had ILR and even though we ask nicely, we never get one for longer than a month.

Visa free entry for ILR holders

Which countries can people with ILR travel to for tourism without having to go through the hassle of obtaining a seperate visa each time? Every time I've applied for a schengen visa, the relevant embassy has only issued it for the dates of travel despite my requests that they issue one for longer as...

Quick question about applying for a Schengen visa

I know this is going to sound like a totally silly question, but is there any place I can download an application form for a Schengen visa that isn't in PDF format? I want to complete it on my pc (the boxes are too small to write in clearly) and I know it must be possible cos I've applied for one se...

Yes he's passed the test, just waiting till October now to apply for ILR.

Vinny, I wasn't sure whether 28 days was just a straight 28 days or whether it was 28 working days etc etc. Thanks for the clarification though.

Impressed at the prompt reply, thanks John. Knowing a firm date really helps clear matters up as I was getting different dates each time I worked it out.

Query over time frames for applying for ILR

Apologies if this is a repetitive question but I am rather confused about the following: My husband is in the UK on a two year spouse visa issued from Islamabad, this was issued on 10/11/06 and expires on 10/11/08. However he didn't enter the UK until 22/11/06. When is the soonest he can apply for I...

Thanks for the replies guys. Have just realised that my of hubbys uncles is something big in the Peshawar police force so we'll get him touch with him after the weekend, hopefully he can get us the certificate pretty soon. If it wasn't for these forums I'd still be waiting for the dimwits at the pak...

Thanks for your replies guys, he does have to have a CRB check as well but they say that any candidates who have resided in the UK for less than 5 years must also provide a letter of good conduct. I have been informed that a police clearance certificate from his home town will also suffice, although...

Although that's probably a hard days work for them - they close at 12.30!

Anyway, hopefully someone will have some info soon. It looks like most other embassies know what a good conduct letter is, why not the pak embassy?

Letter of good conduct from pakistani embassy

Minimum time on visa?

Is there a minimum amount of time that has to be on a visa before an EU embassy will issue a schengen visa? My husbands two year spouse visa from pakistan expires in november and I'd like to know when the latest date is that I can go on holiday, as we were ideally thinking of late october but I've n...

Fantastic news, I guess I know where i will be going on my next holiday then. I hope all the other embassies in the EU also follow the lead. No you don't, as long as you have a minimum of six months remaining on your current visa.
