Re: New citizenship form UKF

Hello: I received my UKM approval letter January 7, 2016. I live in Arizona. I have not received my ceremony letter? Has anyone in the western USA (I believe my consulate would be in Los Angeles) attended or received their ceremony letter? Thank you. I did the UKM route and attended my ceremony at ...

Re: New citizenship form UKF

Well I have another update, though still not a good one sadly. I just got my passport back in the mail along with a letter saying "once work begins on your application we may need to request them again but please do not send them until we write to you requesting them". They also enclosed ...

Re: New citizenship form UKF

bfrenchfry I would still have hope as I received the same exact letter saying an outstanding policy issue and mine would be decided on December 24th. Two weeks after I got that letter I got my approval. I don't think they are requiring biometrics from US applicants until they have set it up. As far ...

Re: New citizenship form UKF

I am American born in the US but my mother is British. I applied to register as a British citizen using form UKM similar to UKF. When I applied back in April I had to get a certified copy of her naturalisation certificate from the National Archives as she lost hers and it was from the 1960s. They se...

Re: New citizenship form UKF

My acceptance letter said my certificate is being mailed to the Los Angeles British consulate. That is the one I put on my application where I would like to do my ceremony. They said they will contact me to arrange the ceremony. I also am looking for a way to contact them. I have a trip planned in l...

Re: New citizenship form UKF

My application I used UKM similar to UKF and applied from the US. I just received my approval today. They didn't require biometrics for me not sure if it's because I mailed it out by April 8th or because I'm in the US and they don't have biometrics setup. Either way so happy the long wait is over an...

Re: UKM applicants for BC--what is "too long" a wait from UK

Mike we all have to do biometrics. My hubby applied from the US on Sept.1, received in Liverpool Sept. 3 and fees were taken on Sept. 11. That is super fast from everything I've been reading and a couple of other people who have applied months before us like April and May are just now having their ...

Re: Citizenship Applications processing faster than others

I applied using UKM (received by HO on April 14th 2015). Most all applications using UKM are taking at least 5 months and are told 6 is the standard. I'm on month 5 still waiting...

Re: New citizenship form UKF

To New citizenship from UKF The naturalization certificate you got, did the HM Passport office accept it as a proof of citizenship. I have just a received a reply from them regarding my father's certificate, stating that the document has been taken by someone for legal use, and I have to get back t...

Re: New citizenship form UKF

That would be amazing if true! I'm at 5 months on Tuesday and they took my fee out a little over 5 weeks ago. I tried requesting my passport back about 6 weeks ago and they still haven't returned it. I've passed up as much work as I could but now I need a business visa for a job in January and need...

Re: New citizenship form UKF

I've applied as well using UKM in April (received by HO on 16/4/15 from the US (Los Angeles). I just got a reply from the Home Office that the biometrics requirement is not needed on my application as it was received prior to the rollout date. The replies from the FurtherNationality email say I need...

Re: Biometrics for applications sent from abroad

Wow, nice you got a better date from them! They just said to me "We now expect this to be resolved by October 2015, when we will be able to invite you to arrange your enrolment visits. We will contact you again in October to explain what you need to do next." It truly is insane that there...

Re: Biometrics for applications sent from abroad

Yea, I'm hoping they will process our applications and finalize once they receive the biometrics. What's interesting is the US has been setup to take full biometrics that are sent to the UK when someone applies for a UK visa from the US. They've had this in place since 2012 at all the major US citie...

Biometrics for applications sent from abroad

I applied in April for BC using the UKM method. I live in the US. I never received an invitation to do biometrics. After numerous attempts to contact HO as my 6 month application window is up in a month they finally replied. They informed me that they are in the process of setting up a method to col...

Re: UKM applicants for BC--what is "too long" a wait from UK

Eliza, Have you been notified to do your biometrics yet? The reason I am asking is that in another thread, another poster has been notified that there are no biometric centres for him to do his enrolment in the USA and I am wondering if this is why your application is taking so long. My husband jus...

Re: April 2015 Naturalization application Timeline ONLY

I applied in April as well but from the US using UKM. I was never sent a biometrics letter. I'm thinking because I'm not in the UK that is the reason.

Has anyone who has applied from abroad had to do the biometrics as part of their application?

Re: Applying for UK Citizenship with UKM form Help Please!

I believe if your mother has a British birth certificate that is all that is needed to show she is a citizen, and your birth certificate showing she is your mother. She probably wouldn't have registration as a citizen if she left when she was young as well as the passports being too old to find.

I tried using the return document form and never heard anything. I emailed the Further Nationality uk email address and got a real person to email me back 3 days later. They sent my passport and got it 7 days after that.

If anyone is waiting for the return of their passport after applying using UKM just email FurtherNationalityEnquiries@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk I got a response in a few days that was forwarded to an actual person I could talk to. They mailed back my US passport and got it within 7 days for a trip I was...
