Re: Changes in EEA citizenship applications from 12th Novemb

Does this then mean that one can only apply one year from the issue date of the PR confirmation card? Or does one just needs to get the PR confirmation card but can still apply one year from the date PR was actually acquired (and supply additional docs)? Very confusing new requirement which would o...

Re: Permenant Residence Card required for British Naturalisa

It's not clear whether one year of residence will be required after the issue date of the PR card. Obie will probably be able to advise further on this. However, why two years ? Surely if someone has satisfied the residency/exercising Treaty rights rule they can apply for their PR card immediately?...

Re: Permenant Residence Card required for British Naturalisa

So does this mean that someone from the EEA who was planning to apply next month on the basis of working and exercising treaty rights for the last 10 years, is now unable to do so, and needs to wait almost 2 more years? (To get the PR and then wait a year and then apply??)

Re: Minor offence - not wearing seatbelt

It is not a criminal conviction. It's a fixed penalty. Don't say you have been convicted! Hi , Many Thanks for your reply. I am really sorry but i have been dumb in this scenario. So what you are saying is on question 3.1 should i tick NO and then on the bottom where it says criminal conviction 1 i...

Re: AN Naturalisation - P60 and UK qualification

I would call the Home Office and ask them... you are an EEA national so they would only be interested in the last 6 years. If your long absence is recent, maybe you'll have to wait..

Re: AN Naturalisation - P60 and UK qualification

1. The letter from your employer should be sufficient. You could also add your monthly payslips since April.
2. You don't need anything else. Tha NARIC thing is for people with foreign degrees.

Re: March 2015 Naturalization application timeline

I applied on the 27th of March, my documents were acknowledged on the 7th of April. They wanted more, so I sent over a kilo of documentation which they received on the 1st of June. Since then...crickets. I'm a German citizen, have lived continuously in the UK for 13 years, have paid National Insura...

Re: Using your other passport after becoming a British Citiz

Of course you can still use your Greek passport. You are still Greek, and both Greece and the UK allow multiple nationalities. There is no issue here, you should not be worried at all. Your 2017 Greek passport is absolutely valid and you can still use it with no problem. As a matter of fact it's bet...

Re: Exercising treaty rights as EEA national without PR

PR is not necessary for EEA nationals; as long as you can show proof of continuously exercising treaty rights you'll be fine, I agree with Gomjaba above.
Just got my application accepted last week (without PR).

Re: March 2015 Naturalization application timeline

P.S. With the approval letter came a badly photocopied, corners missing, skewed with horrible black spots "Tell us what you think of the overall experience" survey. I found that amusing...and fitting. Please complete the survey. Please tell them what you feel about their service. Exactly ...

Re: March 2015 Naturalization application timeline

Finally, exactly 6 months later, I received the brown envelope with my approval today, dated 28th of September. I applied on the 31st of March. They are finally moving! Now waiting for the invitation to the ceremony letter, they said it'll take up to 2 weeks. Good luck to everyone else waiting :D I...

Re: March 2015 Naturalization application timeline

Hi guys, My husband needs to apply before Novermber 5th rule changes. Not sure what method will be the quickest to receive Citizenship. Why is it that people are waiting 6 months? Is that standard for postal applications? Is the NCS service quicker? If so how much does it charge and do we need to b...

I had a period of self-employment in the last 5 years, I don't see how this would affect anything if all the paperwork is included. Anyway it took them 6 months as I wrote above..
