Need to book trip for EEA4?

Hi all,

To apply for the EEA4 family permit (6 months) do you need to actually have a planned trip (with accommodation, permission to be off work etc)?

Many thanks for any experiences/information.

Re: EEA permit accepted, residence declined??

Thanks for the clarification on qualified person. Confused about how it is used in this context: "Someone does not need to be a qualified person to have EEA family permit, but they need to for Residence card." I (EEA citizen) and my husband (non-EU) have been working in Sweden for over a y...

Investigations to verify info

Hi all,

Does it ever happen that the UKVI/UKBA/HO conduct investigations into information/evidence supplied in applications (in our case EEA route Surinder Singh)? Such as contacting relatives/colleagues/rental agencies?

Many thanks for any experiences or information! :)

Re: EEA permit accepted, residence declined??

Many thanks for your replies. How common is this scenario? What happens afterwards? People appeal? In what ways are there a world of difference between the two applications- it looks roughly you have to prepare the same type of evidence? What do you mean by qualified person? :) :? Sorry for lots of ...

Re: EEA-route process: forms and applications

Many thanks for your replies!

If permanent residence is acquired after 5 years, is the UK residence card acquired in the same way after an initial successful EEA permit application?

EEA permit accepted, residence declined??

Hi all, Reflecting on the EEA-route and wondering about how this scenario comes about- if your EEA permit (6-month visa) is accepted and then once in the UK you apply for the UK residence card and that is declined. If the same supporting documentation/information is the same as in the initial EEA pe...

Need to translate supporting documentation?

Hi all, Does the supporting documentation (e.g. bills, payslips) for the EEA permit (visa) and residence card application- need to be translated into English? I have read on some of the forums all needs to be translated by a certified translator and sent along with the original non-English language ...

EEA-route process: forms and applications

Hi all, Having read through the Gov.uk website and a lot of this forum I am getting a little confused about the process/forms (I think because the names have changed over the years) PROCESS: 1. VAF5 for the EEA family permit (6-month visa to enter the UK) 2. Once in the UK apply for residence card w...

Re: S. Singh route vs. 5-yr family visa

Hi again, Many thanks for the answers to my questions- now I know all the abbreviations :) :) And good to know we don't have to provide any evidence for good character except filling out the form about previous convictions, etc. Yes the aim is permanent settlement and citizenship--- this brings me t...
