Apart from the one incident when told to fill in ntltoc, all the others (3 reps from the immigration line) said to send it with a cover letter, no NTL-TOC form required with support docs. So will do that first. How long does these requests take to process - i guess it wouldnt count as urgent and wou...

Once again thanks for the response, really appreciate it. No birth certificate for the baby, cause in their home country its not something that you get normally unless you request it. However they do have a official letter from the High Commission in London dated 1996 to say that on their records it...

Thank Jazbaati, I contacted the immigration helpline twice and got two contradicting messages. Now I am even more confused. here are the two conflicting messages i got: 1. Because the DOB was changed on the existing passport rather than on a new passport I was told by one member I did not have to fi...

amend DOB on passport and ILR stamp - help

Querying this on behalf of my relative. Relative has a daughter who was originally born in 1992. However in all her passport the DOB was 1991 instead of 1992. An error made by the embassy who issued the child her first passport in her home country. The family received their ILR last year including t...

Don't you feel like suing the lawyers who misinform people - they should be named and shamed!

Thank you Vinny and Frontier Mole. I am grateful for the ILR. But just for the record when a diplomat leaves their post they do not commit any offence if they remain, so we've not broken any laws. The point about regularisation is frustrating cause dad was given misleading information when he retire...

Refused Naturalisation - advice

Would appreciate any advice on this – I am still in a state of shock. My application for naturalization was refused on the bases of section 3(e) – below. Here is a brief of my timeline: I came to the UK as a dependent of my father who is a diplomat in 1996. He retired from the embassy in 2002 an...

Curious about situation - HO

Hello... After 8 months of waiting we heard back from the HO saying that "they have considered our application and will let us remain in the UK" - exact quote. My family and my siblings we all applied under the 10 yr stay for ILR. Anyway because we applied through a solicitor, they mention...

I can totally understand ur frustration, but unfortunately for non-straightforward cases the home office can take ages and i know peoples whose files have been there for years before they hear a word from them. Wish you good luck and hope it works out for you and your fiance.

Thank you for explaining, it makes sense. We did sought advice when dad retired, and at the time we were told to wait for 10 years. And now we're starting to realise that was a mistake. Would anyone know a good lawyer - cause all the ones we've been seeing obviously dont seem to have a clue. I do ha...
