Re: UK EU referendum confirmed for summer 2016

After being victimised in the last three years (out my almost 17 years) I have decided that I will never ever apply for British citizenship. I will apply for PR, if I am granted it, fine, if not, tough! If I get the PR and eventually I'll be kicked out of this country, fine. I speak 4 languages and...

Re: UK EU IN OUT REFRENDUM CONFIRMED SUMMER 2016!!!!

Who said that the ROI was part of the Commonwealth? Can you point out where I specifically said that? I was simply pointing out my right, as an Irish citizen, to vote in UK elections. I am very well aware of where the rights derive from. Chaoclive being a citizen of the Republic of Ireland I am int...

Re: UK EU IN OUT REFRENDUM CONFIRMED SUMMER 2016!!!!

My entire immigration journey (as a single person) to ILR cost me about £5000, with each LR renewal costing above £1000 each and the last two coming to about £1800 each. While people who have been here under the EEA route quibble about the £65 that they are charged. That is absolutely savage. I've ...

Re: UK EU IN OUT REFRENDUM CONFIRMED SUMMER 2016!!!!

I guess that's how the system works, sometimes it works in our favour and sometimes it doesn't Well, think of it this way. Re: UK EU IN OUT REFRENDUM CONFIRMED SUMMER 2016!!!!

Absolutely! That will be essential. I highly doubt I'll be a British citizen in time for the referendum so I won't be able to vote (but my British friends who have been living permanently in Ireland for the last 6 years will ), but I think people need to have some detailed information laid ou...

Re: UK EU IN OUT REFRENDUM CONFIRMED SUMMER 2016!!!!

Please can we keep this thread strictly on-topic. UK EU IN OUT REFRENDUM CONFIRMED SUMMER 2016!!!! Apologies casa. But to be fair my original post was 100% relating to the eu referendum. The subsequent conversation naturally followed to talking about citizenship. Back to topic then. Anyone have any...

Re: Naturalisation process for EU citizen

Hi, I have become quite exasperated trying to fill in the form AN for naturalisation and trying to navigate through all the various guides! I would be very grateful for any help on a few points. By way of introduction, I have been in the UK for over 20 years having come over from Spain when I was 2...

Re: UK EU IN OUT REFRENDUM CONFIRMED SUMMER 2016!!!!

I don't see the changes as suggesting that your PR commences from the day your card was issued. It simply says, that evidence of settlement can be evidence by the issue of a permanent Registration certificate. Obie I appreciate what your saying and I've read a few of your comments on this forum you...

Re: UK EU IN OUT REFRENDUM CONFIRMED SUMMER 2016!!!!

You should have PR no problem. My point is that you should not have to wait 12 months after receiving your PR document before applying for naturalisation. You will hit 12 months of holding PR in February 2016, so give it a couple of weeks as safety buffer, then bang in your application. Make no bon...

Re: UK EU IN OUT REFRENDUM CONFIRMED SUMMER 2016!!!!

I am now required to apply for permanent residency first, wait one year after receiving the permanent residence certificate, and then apply for British citizenship. Basically the earliest I am able to officially apply for British citizenship will be may 2017 You have almost certainly acquired perma...

I am now 27 years of age and I am employed as a police officer. I have been a police officer since February 2010 so almost six years n...

Re: Comprehensive Sickness Insurance - please help

Sounds like an episode of eastenders lol but yeah I think you would be able to apply straight for British citizenship if you had the relevant proof. I'm not entirely sure on that though I'm sure other people on here would be better placed to offer advice on that. May be just easier applying for PR a...

Thanks again for your help, I'm keen to find out how you get on and will let you know likewise. All sent off this morning, 6 p60s covering the fiv...

Thanks for the reply alvarez, it's nice to know there are others in the same boat! What did you end up doing for section 9, did you fill in the educational history bit or leave it blank and explain in the further information box / covering letter? I completed it to the best of my ability, I complet...

Ah that makes sense now. At first I was worried that my application would be rejected as I didn't have csi when I was a student even though I've worked here full time since Feb 2010! Many thanks for your help much appreciated :D

I noticed that yeah. So would you advise me to put down in the table all activities since I entered the uk, but then only complete the employment section details after that?
