Dual Citizens and Passport Application

I have recently received my citizenship approval and have my ceremony booked. Today I picked up a passport application at the Post and want to have it ready as soon as the ceremony is done. Have I understood it correctly? I'm also a German citizen and will have dual citizenship. Do I have to send my...

Re: Citizenship application-no sickness insurance

On a separate note, if there is doubt about your status, you may be better off applying for a PR card and then citizenship a year later. While a PR card is optional, you lose only £65 if your PR status is not confirmed as opposed to close to £1000 if your citizenship application fails. The more I r...

Re: Citizenship application-no sickness insurance

I think my application is being held up for the insurance reason. I came to the UK from Germany in 2002, long before this was a requirement. I've been married to a British citizen for 6 years. As there is no way to retroactively have a card or purchase insurance for the past 15 years, I don't know t...

Re: May 2015 Naturalization Application TIMELINE ONLY

I applied in March, not a peep, not even an acknowledgement that my paperwork arrived (besides my registered signed-for receipts).

Their methods are opaque, and they hold all the cards...

Re: contacting local MP

Hi Kate, I sent my application on the 27th of March, got a letter asking for more information on the 19th of May (which I sent off immediately), and haven't heard anything since. Seven months... I contacted my MP by email last week on Wednesday, my MP's office asked for a bit of info (my case number...

Re: Spouse of British citizen but asked for student health i

I'm a German applying for citizenship, living permanently in the UK since 2002, have been a student on and off since then, have worked for various companies and have also had a small business since 2004. Have paid National Insurance for over 10 years. I've been married to a British-born citizen sinc...

Re: Rejected citizenship application

This could possibly explain the delay in my application, as I could be caught in the student-worker vortex (as I have been both simultaneously), despite being an EU citizen married to a British citizen for 6 years.

This does not bode well...

Re: THE FUNNNY REALITY OF HOME OFFICE CALL CENTER

@cool mind They always blame us for "stealing" jobs which is nonsense. Immigrants do not steal jobs, they help fill vital skill shortages and, in doing so, create demand and more jobs. If we did steal jobs, there wouldn’t be record levels of employment UK currently do. @rooibos Vollkommen...

Re: March 2015 Naturalization application timeline

Thanks for your comments, tyx and blackstreak. I just sent them what they asked for!

In the meantime I've written an email to the Home Office (for all that good that might do...) and to my MP (may do more good), and I'll see if I can get anyone on the phone tomorrow.

Thank you for the kind words!
