Applying for the 5 year residency card AFTER Nov changes

I am completing my husbands ukrc application today. I am the British Citizen. We were granted a FP permit through Surinder Singh route which expires this month. I am briefly aware that since Nov there has been some changes and as a result the British Citizen needs to be working and evidence of the ...

Re: Post Surinder Singh

Hi noajthan, I'm following this too, thanks for the information. Does SAR = Subject Access Request? (and if so why is this needed?). Also, say the OP did not apply until month number 5 of her husband's Family Permit duration, would he then be able to stay in the UK the following six months waiting ...

Re: Post Surinder Singh

No other docs needed at border (except passport), the FP is your hubby's Willie Wonka golden ticket. Bring hubby's foreign EHIC if he has one. FP holder can work. if you can find an employer who believes you. Get settled in. Hubby apply for optional RC in a few weeks time, if he wishes. - probably ...

Post Surinder Singh

Hey guys So my husband applied for the EEA Family Permit via Surinder Singh, which was granted to us yesterday :D The visa is valid for 6 months and my husband must travel to the UK accompanied by me (as the British Citizen) I am thankful I have crossed the first hurdle, but i am so clueless of the...

Re: SS application via the visa4uk webiste

That looks more like it on the basis that you are a 'proxy EEA national' by virtue of your SS sojourn in Spain. You have passed the first test. Suggest printing off a paper copy of the form to practise on; it will give you a preview of the questions on the online form. Use the paper version provide...

Re: SS application via the visa4uk webiste

What are other options to the first 2 questions? ' Settlement ' rather smacks of UK migration route rather than EU route. Ive just tried clicking all the options rather than just going by what my husband said. Yes, he clicked the wrong options. Let me attach the options here. I believe the option f...

Re: SS application via the visa4uk webiste

also in addition to the above. towards the end of the application it asks if my husband is exempt from the english language requirement to which he selects no (what makes you exempt anyway?) Does this mean he has to do a english language test? Is this part of the EEA family permit? Its the first i'v...

He didn't even know what evidence I had. This was his reply to my generic query to see if he'd done any surinder Singh applications and me providing the basic info of what I'd done in Spain.

Re: Surinder Singh HELP

I don't think that that applies to me as I have been living in Barcelona for almost 3 years now. The only thing is I only worked for 6 months between 2013/2014. Do you think that will be a problem? Do I have to be working at the time of my application? I contacted a solicitor by email who basically...

Re: Surinder Singh HELP

As its an online form I can't see latest version & all questions. You could print off the paper version (its on website for benefit of N.Korea applicants) and have a practice until you are able to register online. Thats what i have done, thank you. So can I just get one thing straight. I (my hu...

Re: Surinder Singh HELP

BUMP does my husband apply using the EEA FAMILY VISA application form from spain? I know the form is online but do you complete the form and print it? Re: Surinder Singh

My husband is a Spanish residency holder (not passport holder) Just reread the above, not sure what it means. - what is your husband's nationality? Is he Spanish? If so, you don't need to do SS - just come to UK. If not Spanish does husband have an Article 10 Residence Card (issued in Spain)? Ref h...

Re: U: Surinder Singh

Thanks!! Does anyone have a hard copy of these application forms as they all seem to have to be 'done online' and not printable There is a link to a printable form (for use by North Koreans!) here: https://www.gov.uk/family-permit/apply The RC form (for future use) is printable. Awesome! Many thanks

Re: U: Surinder Singh

Suggestion: why not assemble all your supporting documentary evidence & print off the application form/s & see how it all shapes up when you put it together. PS More background on SS (if you can take it): http://www.immigrationboards.com/europe-immigration-forum/newbie-feeling-lost-t196282....

Re: Surinder Singh

Broadly, as I understand it, the requirements for the Surinder Singh route is that family life was either created or strengthened in the same period as exercise of treaty rights. You exercised your treaty rights by working in another EEA country between December 2013 and June 2014 while with your h...
