My friend extension was refused on similar ground in 2013 and he appealed. He eventually won the case in upper tribunal. He had similar issues with income tax, he declared it correctly to hmrc.

Did they call HMRC to check your declared income?

I did call them and they said they have sent a referral again. The date they have quoted me is 18th of November ... Should I call them on that day or call them on Monday.

My friend has applied for ILR and his application is gone for further checks. His visa is expiring on couple days time.

Can his dependants apply by post now ? as his visa is not arrived and their visa will expire before decisions comes.
