Re: Spousal Visa application with 1 dependent

Could it then be because we didn’t apply for bp before turning 18 that ancestry was a possible route?

If so then it could mean my sister can still use that as an option?

Re: Spousal Visa application with 1 dependent

You cannot use your non British spouse income for application from abroad. You also can only use your income from abroad if you also have a confirmed genuine job offer to start within 3 months of arriving in the UK. I am alsmot certain there was a recent post of someone who got an ancestry visa rat...

Re: Ancestry to British passport whilst in UK

My understanding is that your citizenship registration is not retrospective, you are only British from the date you attend your ceremony following your form UKF application. So the three years already here might not be relevant to your sons registration as you were not British for that period. ok t...

Re: Ancestry to British passport whilst in UK

You can only apply for your son after you have become British. Your husband will have to switch to FLR M and meet the English and financial requirements. Note also, crucially, that IHS has doubled and will be £1000 for a 2.5 year spouse visa plus the visa fee if £1033. So i will need to apply first...

I have right to British citizenship due to my father being a UK born citizen.
On a point of interest, were your parents married at the time of your birth? Were you born before 1983?
Was born 1988 out of wedlock

Re: Naturalisation of child born outside UK

Father British and mother and child with ILR should be okay. However, there is an upcoming court case about the registration fees for children being too high. So, you may want to wait to see if the courts will reduce these fees. Vinny, Is there any update on this court case? Many thanks Jamaine

Thanks char, yes I am aware of the expenses involved for ancestry but it is much more affordable that route than it is to do my passport and then spousal visas as that financial criteria as well as visas work out to be over R500 000. Have looked into the Singh option but it wouldn't be for us to be ...
