Biometric confirmation receipt for spouse visa

I have come across references to this document: Biometric confirmation receipt I believed it was part of the supporting documents gven at the appointment stage of the spouse visa. However, the appointment supplier I am using does not mention this receipt in the list of documents they need to see. Is...

Re: spouse visa & call/chat history

This has been the subject of several other posts. Views differ and the UKVI says that it is up to the applicant to demonstrate the relationship is genuine. For myself, I've just included a quite small sample of Skype messages plus a few emails. This did the trick when my spouse applied for a visitor...

Re: Teleperformance - a short term settlement visa definitio

Thank you anyhow. I managed to get through the "making out the spouse application" business, with supporting documents. Now, I don't find the system of submission and payment to be that clear and transparent. What I would suggest (and it would be easy) is for them to construct a flow chart...

Re: Teleperformance - a short term settlement visa definitio

Family visa and a few others, that escape me. This was the only one that said settlement in the title, so I figured it must be the one. I just wish they would not occasionally refer to the same visas under different titles. The system is complicated enough! I registered and booked an appointment wit...

Teleperformance - a short term settlement visa definition

Registering online with Teleperformance, who run the documents service in Moldova. It asks what type of visa my spouse is after. The only one that seems to fit the bill is what they call a "Short stay settlement" visa. Is this the same as the entry visa so she can stay here for 30 months (...

Re: IHS payment in euros

Ok, but the applicant has not the money. So I am paying this for her, as her sponsor. So my question really is, can I pay as her sponsor? My bank in the UK doesn't think there is a problem, but I want to be sure before I fill out the IHS form that UK sponsors can pay it. What happens next? Do they e...

IHS payment in euros

I am hoping to pay for the IHS in UK pounds. But it does not give me this option. It only says euro payments. If I enter my UK sterling bank account details in the box, will it take the money in pounds and convert it automatically? I am paying for my wife, but I assume it thinks she is paying the fe...

Immigration Health Surcharge problem

I have got to the stage before I pay for the IHS. The spouse visa is completed. However, before I pay the IHS, there is a page "Your Details." In it, all the details of my wife (applicant) are there. BUT the passport number described is mine . And I cannot change it. How this happened, I h...

Re: Place of issue on british passport ?

I'm having the same problem, what is the place of issue of my UK passport? Some people say write United Kingdom. I have no idea which city in the UK issued it though. What do I put there? Just United Kingdom?

IPS is the issuing authority, if this helps.

Re: Obtaining Irish passport

Hi Casa. Not at the moment. I am a UK passport holder. But my deceased mother was Irish and I can prove it. So this is something to keep in the back of my mind for the time when the UK is not in the EU and a situation arises where myself and my spouse want to live somewhere else, like Spain. Who kno...

Obtaining Irish passport

For those with a family connection to Ireland, for example a parent, they can apply for an Irish passport. As Ireland is still in the EU, they could use this passport for travel across the EU. Possibly to live and work in another EU country. However, if they get UK state benefits, for example, UK be...

Re: Urgent query two valid visas

Without following the details of the threat, when I emailed UKVI about whether I could have two UK visas "going" at the same time (ie active at once) they "told" me yes, it was possible. As previously said, my impression is that you get some real rubbish if you directly ask UKVI ...

Re: Urgent query two valid visas

I did not find when I wanted to ask myself any contact details for UKVI, one that you could use to directly ask them a question. I did once come across an email, but the response I received looked like it was generated by an automatic reply service, since it never answer my specific question. I susp...

Re: Sponsorship undertaking form for Settlement spouse visa

The sponsor undertaking form is only where dependents are involved. The accommodation passages are, I think, on Appendix 2. I was told, on the accommodation front, to try to include the minimum documents. Like a Land Registry statement (if a property owner) and some sort of idea that the accommodati...

Re: Cash savings: Who's?

I don't know what will be said. But I am also using Cash Savings Category D for the spouse visa. I was told that in this case I should leave the other boxes blank. I do have a small amount of income (a pension) which I could include (it would be counted) but that wil only confuse the situation for n...

Re: Spouse visa supporting documents list

Right, I knew about the certified notario, etc. In Moldova, because it uses two "official" languages, you find notarios all over the place. Interesting though the passage that says "Sometimes, when a document has more than one page, the certifier does not want to certify every page. W...

Re: Spouse visa supporting documents list

I have read that only the passport pages with the bio and photograph need to be notarised. I have never read (and I have done the research) that an entire passport needs notarising or copying. As it happens, I have copied the stamps at the back my passport also, to prove that I travelled on the date...

Re: Spouse visa supporting documents list

Thanks guys. My wife, who has done this sort of thing before in her country (I am British) says that they should be able in the office to accept ONLY a notarised copy of my UK passport, with no need for her to present my original passport. If necessary, they can check the notarised copy is valid by ...

Yes, meeting by cash savings for over 6 months of over £62,500 (Category D). I know that the bank statement must be under 28 days old from the time of the visa application. The statement has the bank logo on it, and tells the dates of the transactions. Because there are few transactions, they put al...

Re: Cash Savings for Spouse Visa

Yes, agreed. She was over here on a visitor visa and after she took the A1 test, she had a free ESOL assessment done in Manchester. This is for her (hopefully) getting the spouse visa and then having to take A2 later down the line. She was told that she was not yet quite up to the A2 standard, but o...

Re: Cash Savings for Spouse Visa

On the A1 test, I recently asked Trinity College and they said my wife's pass certificate is only valid for two years. So she would have to resit (and pay for) the exam if it's not used within 2 years. I expect the same rules apply to other examining boards re the A1 test.

Re: Marrying an illegal immigrant in the UK

True, but if discovered, would this not come under the criminal law? My point was that it will have repercussions in terms of immigration law and what the effect is. My general point is that UKVI treats these matters quite seriously if they come to their notice.
