does anybody know, what should I do in the following case:
an approval letter is received, GNIB is sent with bank draft for €950
the GNIB is due to expire before 19th September

So it wouldnt be a problem immigration on the Irish border is not a problem, it's some curtain airline which can refuse boarding. Theo...

On Monday I found a notice from registered post about attempted delivery in the morning, and the mail can be picked up after 4:00 PM at the an post depot. I emailed citizenship, but alas, it was a letter from c...

Advanced stage, well advanced, final stage - it seems completely depends on the person in immigration who is giving the reply

Re: 2016 Citizenship Approvals

KingdomMan , Peace2804 , I don't have a certificate nor even approval yet - I'm just trying to do a bit of planning in advance, so when/if I get good news I'll not loose any seconds. in 2015 ceremonies in Dublin were held in April and July, so I thought I'd have to count only on my current passport...

Re: 2016 Citizenship Approvals

Why go apply for a stamp 6 after you've been awarded citizenship (naturalisation certificate)? Pending the time you put in an application for a passport, You can always travel on holidays with your family in as much you have visas to your country of destination and can return here to Ireland presen...

Re: 2016 Citizenship Approvals

KingdomMan, do you think it's plausible to get stamp 6 after the citizenship ceremony? It's busy in passport office now, and first time application for adult can take 20+ working days, i.e. month. It means if the next ceremony is held in July my family is out of holidays.

It's Ireland,
Lots of people are taking holidays this week, so IMO only next week, or the week after - it's on the way anyway

Re: 2016 Citizenship Approvals

When applying f the naturalisation we need to send only a certified copy of the birth certificate (and apostile and translation if applicable), and not the originals. Have you sent the original instead? If so, I wouldn't expect them to send it back I am afraid. I sent certified translations, which ...

Does anybody know if in case of approval they return the translation of the birth certificate?
Apparently they wouldn't, it looks like I'll have to do second translation for passport

Re: 2016 Citizenship Approvals

The email itself is self-explanatory and what it means is that your application process is in progress and soon you should be getting a decision on approval. I takes about 6 months to process an application and all things being equal, should may get a decision (approval) in your case in between now...
