Cash Savings SET (M)

Afternoon all, There seems to be some confusion regarding the subject of cash ISAs, so here is my question: For a SET (M) spousal ILR visa, is a cash ISA an accepted account for cash savings (held for at least 6 months) and what is the level of funds needed. I believed it to be 62.5k but apparently ...

Re: Will be applying for ILR

Look at it this way... You will be paying a fortune anyway.

For peace of mind and in the scheme of things, what is another £50? Better safe than sorry is my policy.

SET (M) financial question

Dear All, Quick question as I am interested in opinion on this. My wife is due to renew her visa shortly and this time she is eligible for the ILR (5 years in UK, I am British Citizen). Unfortunately last year I was made redundant, however can still meet the financial requirement either through rent...

Timing of ILR Application

Dear All, My wife will shortly be eligible for her ILR having arrived in the UK in July 2013. We applied and received her FLR(M) extension in March 2016 for 33 months. This second visa is set to run out at the close of September 2018. I am a British citizen. My question is a simple one. Can we apply...

Rental Financial income Question

Hopefully a simple question. One accepted source of income is monthly rental. Could those in the know confirm that this can be the total of two or three properties rent and not just one? ie over the year it could be 10k + 9k from two different properties and not limited to 19k from a single property...

Re: FLR M Queries

On your first query I would advise you to play it safe and take the English test again. It's 150£ at trinity college and is a six minute test. The HO are mostly interested in the test results code which they can check online. You will not have that with the previous certificate. On your second parag...

6 month payslips and matching bank statements

Evening all. A couple of questions for the moderators or those in the know regarding the 6 months of payslips / bank statements utilised as evidence for salaried employment. 1. My bank statements are not normally issued before the date the peo appointment for my wife is scheduled to occur and unfort...

No need to apologise Trigger. At least you pointed it out to me.

Another thing to worry about tonight and then hopefully tomorrow they will tell me that all is in order.

Happy to hear anyone else's thoughts. I will update you all post the call tomorrow.

Re: FEB-2016 PEO Appointments

Re: FEB-2016 PEO Appointments

Why is nothing ever easy. I have just gone through the top link and it worked. Payment made and appointment set, so I can presume that everything is ok..? Question as it is confusing. It asked how many dependants my wife had attending and the answer was clearly none as my daughter is British (as am ...

Re: FEB-2016 PEO Appointments

Yes, but when you book an appointment, it then comes up with an error message and does not go to completion.

Has anyone been able to complete a booking this afternoon?

Re: Police Registration

One further question. We were all living abroad when the VAF entry clearance was awarded to my wife. Was I already considered as 'settled' the moment I set foot back in the uk? The exemption of clause iv above is dependent on being settled.

Any thoughts ?

Re: Child Benefit eligibility and High Income Tax Charge

My understanding is that any overpayment (as with anyone claiming CB on a higher income level) would be adjusted in the self-assessment. I can't see that there is a need to repay any adjustment early. Ok thanks Casa. I am sensing that after this long, long debate, you are also concluding that it is...

Re: Child Benefit eligibility and High Income Tax Charge

No as you were/are the person claiming CB. Ok thanks for this. I was worried. As far as I can see, I have done nothing wrong and we are clean. Paying back early would almost suggest an error somewhere, however in light of all of this, do I pay back or not prior to processing the application? CR001,...

Re: Child Benefit eligibility and High Income Tax Charge

Evening All. Ok, I have had a long chat with HMRC self assessment and it seems that you can pay them anything really as long as they make a note of it on their computers. Thus I could pay back the CB monies or at least transfer an equivalent amount. They were reluctant at first to accept the funds (...

This is good to hear. I was looking at an appointment for early March but thought that all slots had already gone.

What I am hearing is that they have not been released yet. Correct?
