Re: Our Surrinder Singh route from Spain to the UK

@noajthan Thanks for that. I will face a lengthy process trying to get them to release it should they decide to withhold my passport while deciding on my application. So I will weigh the pros and cons of whether its worth fighting the application on the stated basis above as well as contact SOLVIT b...

Re: Our Surrinder Singh route from Spain to the UK

At that point I pulled out a sheet I had prepared incase they attempted to refuse me entry which required ECO's details, reasons for refusal, evidence presented to him to show that I had acquired free moveme What a wonderful story. Do you mind sharing this sheet with me please. Date: Home Office Re...

Re: Our Surrinder Singh route from Spain to the UK

Hey That Zimbo Lad Congratulation, Did they asked you the Tenancy agreement, Payslips, and also did you mention that you are taking SS Route ?? Hi. They were more concerned with my wife's proof of work and my Spanish residency card but we had all that information in the folder just in case it was r...

Re: Our Surrinder Singh route from Spain to the UK

I have no intention of submitting my residency card and passport with my application as I have read of the Home Office illegally witholding passports of EU family members It's worth noting from the guidance you will fail the identity stage if you do not submit valid passports. Evidence of identity ...

Re: Our Surrinder Singh route from Spain to the UK

An inspiring and helpful case. And what a story to tell the grandchildren one day. Good to see how you faced and overcame Irish issues; Spain apostille issues; budget airline issues in a textbook fashion. Thank you for your response and I am glad you found it inspiring. Yes there has been alot of c...

Our Surrinder Singh route from Spain to the UK

Hi all These boards contain so much helpful information and I thought it is only right that I share our own experiences of Surrinder Singh so far. I myself am from Zimbabwe and my wife and son are British passportholders. Initially we were going to do Surrinder Singh in Ireland but we were on the re...

Wrong date of birth details, Article 10 RC from Spain

Hi guys So I have just received a "favourable result" for an article 10 RC as non-EU spouse of an EU citizen. However, as the title suggests the date of birth was entered incorrectly. How do I ask them to correct this? Any ideas apart from obviously returning to sort it out at Extranjeria?...

Re: Spouse Schengen visa denied

@Khanmzk you are absolutely spot on. Quoting the directive for an accompany visa is one of the worst things you could do because your almost certain to be waiting a long time just to get a decision. Applying as a tourist is the way to go- imo because once you get to Europe they cannot deport you und...

Re: British Citizen working in France with New Zealand partn

Hi. I am sure by now you have heard about the Surrinder Singh route and how that enables family members of EU nationals to gain residency in other member states, including their own provided that you (the EU Citizen) are exercising your treaty rights. The only problem for you is that you are not mar...

Re: UK ILR with EU citizen family members - how to enter Ire

I have seen this question being asked numerous times on these boards. ILR is not an EEA family permit or anything of the kind because it is issued under UK national law and more specifically on the tier based system. An EEA family permit is issued when family members of EU citizens who have exercise...

Re: Schengen Visa Delay as a spouse of EU national

PS I know the directive says 90 days without any requirements except passports but some EU countries violate and bend the rules, like the UK was doing with refusing to recognise Article 10 RCs from other EU member states and Ireland is now with taking forever to issue accompany Section C visas. So ...

Malik, it was the French Embassy in Harare, Zimbabwe. Hi After u went Costa del sol. What steps did u take to extend your visa? Or start ur SS route? Re: Schengen Visa Delay as a spouse of EU national

This is an interesting thread. I was under the impression that it was just the Irish and INIS that were abusing free movement rights compliance, not the French and the Dutch as well. Our story is somewhat similar. I originally applied for an accompany visa for Ireland and we got no decision in 4 mon...

Re: Test case Ireland blocking 7,000 C Visas for Surinder Si

It's quite disappointing that INIS and Fitzgerald have resorted to these sort of dirty measures of systematic stalling. Quite clearly they are now operating much similarly to the UK Home Office. I applied for an EU accompany visa in Sept 15 and had set an initial deadline of January 16. Sure enough ...

Re: Applying for short visa France one month waiting !!!

I wouldn't know what the general processing times
For a Schengen visa are in reality, but in my country
(Zimbabwe) they take up to 5 working days. Recently
Applied for a Schengen at my local French embassy
(As a tourist) and it took just 3 working days.

Re: EU PROPOSING NEW CHANGES ON FREE MOVEMENT

These proposals were made with Cameron's renegotiations with the EU. At the moment these are just proposals. Furthermore it is important to note that perhaps the EU felt compelled to give alot of leeway during the negotiations to these proposals to entice Britain to stay in the EU. In reality the tr...

Surrinder Singh via Spain

Hi guys. Moving to Spain in the next week. My wife and son are British and I am a Zimbabwean national. Just wondering if anyone has done this route via Spain recently and what the processing times are for the Article 10 Residence card. Seems time is of the essence with this route for British citizen...

Re: New EU deal: Free-movement rights gone?

Hi guys! Thank you all for your contributions. Honestly I cannot express how valuable these discussions are. So I was following Caneron's negotiations and I did keep hearing mutterings about "clamping down on non-EU migrants who have obtained residence elsewhere". More particularly I heard...

Hi thanks for the reply. Looked into Malta not so long ago however the feedback we got on interracial relationships was very very disturbing. I know some will say "live your life, don't allow lovey to dictate your life, not all Maltese are dearly beloved [Which i do not dispute], or that every ...

EEA Residencia Spain processing times

Seems Ireland is taking the longest now given the high volumes of people immigrating there because of well established reasons. So any feedback will be appr...

Re: 7 month still no accompany EU spouse visa need help

@Uma- well according to the Directive you do not need to show any funds. Just your passport, Id and proof that your wife will be exercising treaty rights/entering another EU state is all that's needed. HOWEVER. The reality is quite different and difficult. Given that mentioning the exercising of tre...
