Re: Baby born after permanent resident card issued

I'm not a solicitor, this is my simple user opinion on an Internet forum. People shouldn't rely solely on information expressed on Internet forums, they should check the official info. I stand by my opinion though - if she gets the PR card in the next couple of months and gives birth after receiving...

Re: Baby born after permanent resident card issued

It says there on the link how much you have to pay. Have you read any of it?

Yes, if you do get the PR card then you can apply for a passport for the baby directly.

Good luck.

Re: Baby born after permanent resident card issued

If you are a EU citizen and you get the "permanent residence card" (not just residence card, you need the one that says permanent on it) before giving birth, then your baby will be British and you can apply for a passport for the baby. To get the PR card now takes about 1-2 months and you ...

@AdInfernos

I read somewhere that the "grace" period is 21 days, counting from the 24th of Jan when they updated the form, so you should be fine.

Re: Questions about the certificate of naturalisation (requesting amendment, when it's needed)

If I were an HO officer I'd say that's a frivolous request and I'd send back your certificate.

Even from the small picture you posted it's clear that it's the 16th... why waste their time (and taxpayer money) with such a request?

Beautiful handwriting. :D

Re: EU citizens pregnant

Your card is valid and it's a residence card, however it's not a permanent resident card. You can only get a permanent resident card after living and working/studying in the UK for 5 years. When did you move to tehe UK? If you have been here for more than 5 years and you meet the requirements for pe...

There are 2 types of blue cards: residence cards and permanent residence cards. Which one do you have? Does it say permanent on it?

Re: Help with the AN form!

I think so. If you're going to NCS take everything you have with you. I had employment letters and P60s, but they took whatever covered the 5 yr period.

Re: Help with the AN form!

I'm a bit confused about the documents to bring to the NCS, as a non married without children person what they basically ask is the passport, life in uk and language exam certificate? no P60, bills or bank statements as the permanent residence card application? http://www.wandsworth.gov.uk/info/200...

Re: Residence card for AN form

Why don't you simply call NCS now? Isn't that easier (and cheaper) than going in person and losing money?

All you have to do is call them and tell them the date on your letter and ask whether you should still go next week or reschedule.

Re: Residence card for AN form

From what I know you don't need a job to naturalise, once you have your PR status and PR card. You can be retired or simply looking for another job. Just mention the truth in your application - you left your job on date XX, and you're looking for another one - and that's all. If Home Office calls yo...

Re: Residence card for AN form

Based on what you wrote - if I were you - I would call the council to reschedule the appointment for 18th of April. Is there any urgency for you to apply for British Citizenship? If they ask why, tell them the date on your letter - the one that came with the PR card. If you go now in January, you mi...

Re: UK citizenship question

I believe you're confusing terms. If you've only lived for 4 years in the UK you don't have permanent resident (PR) status yet. Only after living for 5 years in the UK you can get PR status (if you meet the PR conditions), and you need to apply for a card (DCPR) to confirm that status. And you can o...
