Re: Passport renewal and ILR/BRP ?

So, I left UK 4 months after getting the BRP, so I take it that it is 2 years from the day of the flight back? Also, since my absence from UK was long, will it cause any problem at the immigration at the airport? Will I have to carry any proofs/document to convince the officer? Does any one have exp...

Passport renewal and ILR/BRP ?

Hi All, I got my ILR last year. It's in the BRP form. Nothing is stamped on my passport. Due to personal reasons, I have been living in my home country all this while. Now I intend to come back to UK next month. I had to renew my passport recently, so I'm wondering if I have to inform Home Office of...

Re: Project Manager jobs in software development ??

Thanks for your encouraging words, O_Relly. Yes, I did all the paperwork for HSMP, Tier1 extension and ILR myself. I quit my job in India and came to UK searching for a new one. It took me about 2 months to find one and it was not easy. I remember promising myself never to do anything like that agai...

Re: Project Manager jobs in software development ??

Thank you for your advice O_Relly! I certainly donot want to give up on my hard earned ILR but it looks like it will suck up more of my finances! That is the problem here, I will have to come back to UK without a job and spend time searching for a job, I donot know how long i will remain unemployed....

Thanks cs95tdg and ilrupdates.

No, I'm not submitting the old passport as any evidence. So I will photocopy only the main pages.

One question: Do we need to photocopy the old passport too? What if it does not contain any UK relevant stuff on it?

genuflexion: I'm in a similar situation as you and have similar dates. Remember that on page 21 of SET O form , A4 , you need to give the period for which you are claiming earnings. In the PEO , you need to submit evidence for this period only, in your case Nov2011 to Oct2011. This should be fine, C...

Thanks for your reply cs95tdg! So this means nothing gets stamped on our passport for ILR. So if ILR was approved in a PEO, then do we get our passport back immediately? And if ILR was approved does the PEO issue an approval letter? Also what happens if PEO decides to take more time for taking decis...

BRP

Hi All,

What's a Biometric Residence Permit exactly? Is it a separate card? Or something that gets stamped on your passport?

Is BRP different from ILR or are they the same ?

Also, when ones ILR is approved do the HO issue an approval letter?

Evidence of your finances. page 44 SET (O)

Hi All, Is it necessary to give evidence of finances if one is applying as a single applicant? (page 44) My situation is: I'm unemployed since the last 3 months so I was not planning to submit bank statements for this period. Also, I stopped the paper statements from my bank from the last 3 months. ...

Hi Shekhar,

Congratulations on getting the ILR!!

Some questions: When they said your application was approved, do they give you a approval letter or similar?

And they keep your passport and you get this back in 7 days with the ILR stamped on it, right?

Unpaid leaves within 180 days per year?

Hi All, I was re-reading the confusing new ILR rules again and something caught my attention, this is regarding the 180 days per year rule. From the ilr-calculating-continuous.pdf document:- on page 10:- Absences must be for a reason that is consistent with the original purpose of entry to the UK or...

A PG dig in East Ham or similar place would cost around GBP 300 per month. So cannot one just break e...

I think the OP is talking about doing a part time job till he finds a real permanent job. and why not do a part time job? i see nothing wrong in that. i can see 2 issues here :- UK is really a expensive place for us Indians ,so even if a part-time job does not pay ur full monthly expense , some part...
