Single Person Council Tax Discount (25%)

Hello, I got the above on my Council Tax bill. I told twice to Council officials that I am on a visa and have no access to public funds. They told me the discount is not public funds. Today i searched and found: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/public-funds--2/public-funds In the link coun...

Re: Child staying with friends for (slightly) more than 28 nights

Many thanks, will we not run into a problem? I don't want cause any trouble for my friends who are also immigrants. Equally, I wish to avoid any problems myself. I wonder if I would be queried at the border about how many nights my child spent there.

Child staying with friends for (slightly) more than 28 nights

Hello, My child, who became recently British, had to go ahead of me to the UK. First, the child attended a residential language course for three weeks. Thereafter, I arranged for the child to stay with my friends. Tomorrow (Friday) will be the 28th night. When my child crossed British border, I got ...

To Russell59

It's because Russia and Belarus signed a United State Treaty. But citizens of each country remain citizens of their respective countries i.e. Russia and Belarus.

Also please note the FMS has been recently liquidated as an independent authority and merged with the Police. Is she ever applies for a British passport, all her ID documents, including Russian ones, must bear the same name. She may be refused otherwise.

Re: Immigration to UK from Russia and UK Citizen getting married in Russia

Hello, I can comment on point 1 (registration). You have to register within 7 days upon arrival to Russia. You don't register your visa but the fact of your stay at a particular address. That's why Zags said you don't have to register your visa (and they are right about this). Your fiance has to mak...

Is your application Standard or Priority?

Recent change/announcement in visa rules?

Hello, I had a brief phone chat with a solicitor discussing Priority Settlement Visa options. Solicitor told me that as of last week or so there has been a change in visa applications rules meaning that documents will go to Sheffield now and I should look that any my such priority application would ...

DDGS C/O -- what does this stand for?

Hello,

We are waiting for my child's UK passport to arrive (hopefully!). I got a text message from DHL about a parcel, the sender is DDGS C/O from UK. It will be delivered to a Visa Centre and I am yet to travel there.
Any ideas what does DDGS C/O stand for?

Thank you very much.

Re: Family life as a parent (5-year route) - Which form?

Hello, We are indeed awaiting the child's British Passport and child was registered as a BC. I do have sole responsibility, and we both reside overseas. The child would have to travel to the UK alone first, I am thinking of a residential holiday camp or something to that effect. And then I would lik...

Re: Family life as a parent (5-year route) - Which form?

Thank you so much Casa!

Perhaps I need to clarify that I would apply from outside of UK.

Will the form you gave link still apply to me?

Does this form would apply to me:

Thank you in advance!

Father's British passport number required

Hello, I am starting to fill in the application for my child's first British passport. On page 2, Section 4 the form asks for the Father's British passport number, which I don't know and am not in the position to ask from the Father. What should I state? I do have details of his previous passport bu...

Re: Right to abode

I must confess that the principle of a right of abode sticker makes no sense to me. My understanding is that anyone born since 1983 who holds right of abode in the UK is a British citizen, so such a sticker screams 'I am a British citizen'. A lot depends on what is meant by 'Uzbekistan does not rec...

Right to abode

Uzbekistan does not recognize dual citizenship. Does it make sense to apply for a Right to Abode sticker to...
