There are not too many people visiting VBSI website at the moment and majority of the skilled immigrants are unaware about VBSI's efforts. Is this a good idea to advertise the VBSI banner/ link on the famous immigration websites like www.workpermit.com etc? More skilled immigrants know about VBSI, ...

Sorry we're still keeping you in the dark regarding our Friday's meeting with SK. It's just that those who attended it had to go to overseas conferences straight after it. We'll try to compile a more detailed update shortly.

Well, not sure if you're aware, but Australia has also just made an amendment to their residency requirements. It will now also take a year longer. HOWEVER, this new legislation, which will come into effect in January 2007, WILL NOT affect current visa holders in Australia. In Australia and Canada,...

hvac2006, If I were this MP, I would be as furious as people directly affected by the rule change. Do you think your MP may wish to continue to interrogate the IND? It may be useful if he spoke with Andrew Dismore MP, as AD was promised by LB in a face to face meeting that his replies "would no...

WP_Holder_05_2002, this just came in to info at vbsi, which is relevant to what you are suggesting : "as VBSI have pointed out before, it could be in the Government's best interests to keep delaying a decision, since fewer and fewer people will be effected by the 4 - 5 change as time passes. Ho...

In order to collect as much information as possible about a potential legal case, it could be useful if as many affected people as possible sought legal advice and shared it with others either here or discretely by email to BadPaul. This does not have to be expensive. There is a citizens advice bure...

Re: poll on labor policy

good idea, if you can put the poll asking how the perception of people changed after before the changes to 4-5, i will get people to vote. I set up the poll at http://www.vbsi.org.uk/ . We may want to move it to the navigation margin later, but I put it in the most prominent place for now. I kept t...

VBSI is waiting for the Minister's response expected in mid-September, when both himself and the Parliament come back from holidays. If he doesn't respond as he promised, we will seek ways to get through to him and remind about the problem (this will be done via MPs). At the same time, VBSI have wr...

simar, the guide says on page 5: "You should have been free from immigration time restrictions during the last 12 months of this period." In other words, you will need to have had ILR for a year before becoming eligible.

I suppose if people want to start a sub -group in VBSI , there is no need to get anyone's premission! Exactly! There is no barrier for joining. Or, rather, the barrier is purely psychological. All it takes an email to info at vbsi.org.uk . No one needs anyone's permission to do anything. The VBSI e...

let us look at the bigger picture! The current situation is that we are waiting for Liam Byrne's response to a very clear point made to him by the VBSI and NLCA. If his response is negative (or if he stalls for too long) we need to decide as to what to do next. Several people, and I agree with them...
