Re: Application Update - Biometric Appointment

Hi, I am in the exact situation. Applied in June for family and myself via IDV. I received the same email about attending biometric appointment on 4/8 at around midnight. There is no other change visible on the IDV app or the UKVCAS website. My best guess is that it is a technical error. So for now ...

Avoid original documents for British passport application after naturalisation

Is there a way one can send a verified copy (e.g. from council, post office etc.) of the original passport (Indian in my case) when applying for a British passport after naturalisation? I want to avoid sending the original passport because I understand that the home office takes another 2-3 weeks to...

Understanding the visitor visa vignette

My mother recently applied for a 2 years visitor visa and was granted. The visa vignette mentions 2 yrs validity based on valid from date and valid to date. However, the observation section says "Duration 180 days". I would think that this means that she can stay in the UK for a total of 1...

Re: MN1 application after T2/ILR dependent

Then, I think, child may rely on the UK born rules . Requires no prior leave. If both parent are granted ILR, then child’s ILR would be consistent with the other rules. I referred to the link you posted - the post mentions further rules and links to those rules. Most of the links are being redirect...

Re: MN1 application after T2/ILR dependent

1. No . 2. Yes , but probably not straight forward, if other parent is not eligible for ILR. 2. Unfortunately, some caseworkers prefer to openly ignore the UK born child rules . They may grant child’s leave in line with the other parent ’s limited leave, subject to IHS . Hi again. I am still strugg...

Re: Are priority appointments for Set(F) open yet?

Because a family I know recently applied and were informed by their agent that priority appointments are not available. I wanted to understand if that was due to pandemic or some other reason. They were not aware.

Thanks for the response!

Are priority appointments for Set(F) open yet?

Are priority & super priority appointments open for Set(F) these days (April 2021)?
If not, any news on when they could be open? I am likely to apply for my child in June 2021.

ILR Set(O) - Earliest date of application - two different responses?

I am pondering about the earliest date I can apply for ILR Set(O). I understand that the application should be made 28 days before the 5th anniversary of the entry visa start date. However, while browsing this forum, I came across two contradicting replies from moderators, links below. @Moderators, ...

Re: MN1 application after T2/ILR dependent

If both parents have the same leave or are applying for the same leave, then caseworkers may grant child’s leave in line with the parents’ under the normal dependant rules, subject to the parents’ route. If parents have different periods of leave leave, then there is a conflict between the UK born ...

Re: MN1 application after T2/ILR dependent

Understood. I contacted a very experience immigration lawyer and even he wasn't fully sure if the child needs a leave to remain before applying for ILR. He is investigating. However, it is honestly not expected even a bit for a case workers to know the all the rules. After all, the application pays ...

Re: MN1 application after T2/ILR dependent

Thanks for the response I was hoping for. However, the case you mentioned is indeed unfortunate and is worrying because the sole reason I am going to spend £3000 child's ILR app is because we wish to travel in the near future. If such ignorance would cause challenges, I could rather apply for MN1. O...

Re: MN1 application after T2/ILR dependent

Thanks CR001 for merging. Based on the previous advice and my research on the same, I have decided to go to child's ILR application for now. However, I have read some confusing stuff on this situation and have a question: My child was born recently and doesn't have any UK Visa. I have Tier 2 General...

ILR Set(O) - Query about child's ILR eligibility

My child was born recently and doesn't have any UK Visa. I have Tier 2 General and will be applying for ILR soon. I wish to apply for my child's ILR (as dependent) along with my ILR application. Is there is requirement for child's ILR application that the child needs to have Tier 2 dependent visa be...

For a UK born child, child’s immigration status is irrelevant to child’s entitlement to register.
Many thanks. This is what I was looking for.

So either I spend around £3000 if I do wish to travel or I don't travel until the end of the year.

Re: MN1 application after T2/ILR dependent

If you are applying for ILR under the Skillled worker rules, then wife and child may also apply under the Skilled worker dependant rules. Thanks. I am aware of this. My questions if after the child is granted ILR (dependent on us), can the child apply for MN1 only a few months after receiving ILR d...

Re: MN1 application after T2/ILR dependent

Yes, if child applied before you applied for ILR. I would apply for T2 dependent before my ILR just to save cost of ILR dependent and save time of MN1. But if T2Dep won't be granted for any significant period, then that does not help. I believe this is what you meant to be double sure. Then the onl...

When will your T2 and your wife’s dependant leave expire?
July 2021.
Would the child be granted T2 dependent only until July 2021 in this case? Perhaps that's the key question?

MN1 application after T2/ILR dependent
