I did it

Hello immigrationboards members! You've been an absolute godsend for help and information to me while I was navigating the journey to British citizenship. So I basically just wanted to say thank you. At long last I finally achieved British citizenship and I made a YouTube weblink removed full length...

Re: Private Citizenship Ceremony Rules on Cameras

That is likely not a general rule affecting the video recording of all private ceremonies, but one appertaining specifically to Hounslow. While the form of the ceremony is fairly standard, the rules about who can attend, the rules around photography and filming, etc, are down to the local council. ...

Re: Private Citizenship Ceremony Rules on Cameras

It may be due to the fact that an official photographer will be taking individual photos of the attendees receiving their Citizenship certificate. Actually quite the opposite. I was informed that there will be no photographer there so when I replied saying that's fine cause I have my own camera she...

Re: Private Citizenship Ceremony Rules on Cameras

As an update, I contacted the Hounslow Film Office and was told I can apply for a permit to film, but that I should also inform the council's citizenship team of my plans so I politely did with the request to pay for a permit to bring a camera to my private ceremony. We shall see what they say

Private Citizenship Ceremony Rules on Cameras

Hi all, so I got my citizenship acceptance letter in December and I've got under a month left till it expires and is sent back to the home office. I'm going to attempt to call them today to get a possible extension. I've got a question for the esteemed members of this forum: My borough (Hounslow) ha...

Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

Hey all! So I got my letter for citizenship in January (HOORAY!) but when I contacted Hounslow council about the ceremony, they informed me that they never plan on opening up private ceremonies again (this can't be true??) I understand we're still in lockdown, but a strong part of me was really hopi...

Re: **** COVID19 Biometrics appointments and UKVCAS ***** (Discuss here ONLY)

Hey lads! So I forgot to update here, but I received my letter in January confirming I was approved for citizenship! Having a fight with Hounslow about delaying the ceremony, but that's not relevant to this thread; I'll just make a new one, but yeah, took a full 6 months to get the letter but here w...

Re: **** COVID19 Biometrics appointments and UKVCAS ***** (Discuss here ONLY)

Just firing off that I'm a mid June application who's still waiting for any sign of life from the home office  Have you received any kind of correspondence after your dual submission? Have you by any chance received a UKVI feedback survey? None at all. And I’ve checked my spam and everything :(

Re: **** COVID19 Biometrics appointments and UKVCAS ***** (Discuss here ONLY)

Hey all! I applied for my British Citizenship on June 15th. Last week I decided to try downloading the IDV app just in case. It said my username wasn't on file. 2 days later I got the email that I was granted access to the IDV app. I went through the process, took pictures of all my passport pages, ...

Re: **** COVID19 Biometrics appointments and UKVCAS ***** (Discuss here ONLY)

Hello everyone I hope that you all are having a good weekend. I just received an e mail update from UKVCAS regarding the new IDV app. They gave me an option to opt out by 7 august, and if I did opt out, they will send me an e mail on or after 10 August with instructions on how to book an appointmen...

Indefinite Leave to Remain as Tier 1 Exceptional Talent

Hello all! So it is finally time for me to apply for my ILR this month. Bit of a hangup though. The company I had been working for in my expert field liquidated in March. It's now May. I have 12 payslips (though one that's for a 14 month period), but I need to get a letter from the company proving m...

Re: ILR with Tier 1 ET + Tier 2 General combo

Hey! So I'm in a very similar situation to you. I worked 3 years under Tier 2 General and then last year switched to Tier 1 Exceptional Talent. I've read over every bit you shared and everything on the UK gov website and I'm pretty sure you're right! We can apply for ILR right now provided we meet a...

Re: My Full Tier 1 Exceptional Talent visa Process w/ templa

Hey gang, here's the end of my tale. I just today received my passport and new visa in the mail. The process for my Tier 1 Exceptional Talent visa stage 2 took a total of 13 days . Half before submitting my BRP and half after for the most part. I really hope this has helped anyone going for this rar...

Re: My Full Tier 1 Exceptional Talent visa Process w/ templa

Okay gang, so I went on holiday for 2 solid months (It was lovely), but now I'm back to finish with my visa. I submitted my Stage 2 of the Tier 1 visa application last week on May 17th. The payment for the visa was taken on the 18th, and on the 20th I received a letter in the mail to submit my bio r...

Re: Tier 1 Exceptional Talent Application Overview

This is not true. I do not own a PhD but was endorsed by Tech City UK for the Tier 1 Exceptional Talent visa. I hold an MSc in a not so relevant field to my endorsement too which is digital marketing.
Just a heads up!

My Full Tier 1 Exceptional Talent visa Process w/ template

Hi there immigrationboards.com members! I've been stalking these forums for months when it came to all the different info I needed with visas. However, because the Tier 1 is so hard to get and there are only a small amount given out every year there wasn't that much information online about it. Fret...
