No response for BRP Nomination form

Hi all, due to the covid pandemic, I was hoping to collect the BRP on behalf of my minor children. I have filled the form on gov.uk site 15 days back but didnt get a response.

Anyone else faced the same? They promise a response in 5 working days but could the delay be due to covid? Thanks in advance

In April I was made redundant, but now I got a job and also started to work and visa is under process, Since I dint yet get my cutailment letter I was wondering if that will create any issue for my new application. I am waiting for my curtailment letter as well, since how long you have been waiting?
Hi I've not been made redundant but there have been other redundancies so everything is a bit uncertain.

How long has it been for you

Re: Blank surname on visa application

So you mean if your full name is: Aishwarya Rai They would write in the passport: R. Aishwarya As first-name and leave the family name blank without ever writing it in full anywhere? Yes, exactly that is the case with my parents' passport. It is a common naming convention in my state (Tamilnadu). M...

Blank surname on visa application

Dear everyone, I am from a state in India which has a different convention of names. The family names are patronymic and are usually written as <Initial (first letter of father's name)> <First Name>. My parents passport gives the same name (<Initial> <First Name>) in the Given name of the passport w...

Re: Tier 2 redundancies

A friend of mine got redundant about 5 months ago, and he is still looking for a job. He hasn't received any curtailment letter. And once the curtailment letter arrives, it is 60 days from the date of curtailment letter. Most of the cases I have heard or know in person, it take months to arrive so ...

Re: Tier 2 redundancies

When will you know about your fate Rubyracer? Are you furloughed now? Probably by July. I was furloughed for more than a month but I am back working at risk of redundancy (the consultation period). work have been really good and they will explore the furlough scheme if they legally can. But every b...

Re: Tier 2 redundancies

It may well be that even if you have to return to your home country now, in time, you will be able to return on another T2 visa, and maybe the HO will consider your previous length in UK as part of 5 years needed for ILR? Given the circumstances by which you were forced to go home, but this is obvi...

Re: Tier 2 redundancies

Hi I came here in 2017 on tier 2 with my 4 kidz.2 of them are still under 18(16+ and 15) and are studying in schools here. I am also most likely to be made redundant shortly. Do the HO will consider educational disruption of children as one of the factors for curtailment of leave. Can they extend t...

Re: Tier 2 redundancies

I don't agree. Many of us here on Tech 2 are in tech and have decent savings. Having my visa extended for 12-18 months would personally bring me massive amounts of peace of mind. It would bring me peace of mind too.. But that doesnt mean its going to happen. A blanket increase in visa period for Ti...

Re: Tier 2 redundancies

I dont see how its practical to give a blanket extension to Tier 2 migrants for 12 -18 months. The best we could hope for is an extension of a month or two to the curtailment period or some relaxation in the visa process (again unlikely given that many EEA workers will also be looking for jobs in th...

Re: Tier 2 redundancies

Re: Tier 2 redundancies

Re: Urgent help needed SOC 2135 does RLMT needed?

RLMT is not required for shortage occupation and SOC 2135 is in shortage occupation, so as long as you're applying under this code you are exempted from RLMT no matter what the agency says. Has this been changed recently? I checked a year back and it used to be only for senior devs in qualifying co...

Re: Tier 2 redundancies

In my opinion the time taken to issue the curtailment letter is going to be significantly longer than usual, not because of any leniency from UKVI, but because there will be a large number of redundancies and the HO will need more time to work through them. But the time taken for curtailment itself ...
