Will the counter for ILR gets reset if one changes visa status from HSMP to student visa or WP ?

Considering that HSMP extension becomes unsuccessful and candidate wants to switch to student visa ?

I am on WP which expires in Dec 2011. I'm awaiting my HSMP approval.
Once I get approval , is it possible to transfer my current FLR to HSMP status.

Or else do I need to apply fresh FLR ( against approved HSMP ) , and I guess that would be for 2 years. Pls advise

I am on work permit ( eligible to work with employer A ) valid till Apr 2010.

I would like to start work with employer B once my HSMP is approved.

Will it be legal to start work with new employer B once I receive my HSMP approval letter , before FLR ( IED ) stamped on my passport ?

Whether legal to start work with new employer once approved

Is it legal to start working with new employer once the HSMP approval letter is received. Or do we need to get FLR(IED) endoresed on the passport before commencing work ?

Can you please point me to legal guideline document in this matter ?
