If you guys don't mind, wehre do you originally come from? I was never questioned much in any other countries that I visit (Australia, US, Canada, Sngapore), so I was just wondering if this applies only to certain countries? I know that in US, the immigration checkpoint askmore questions for visitor...

I think, however, the Malaysian Embassy in GENERAL is required to follow UK LAW while they're in UK. Example: if someone, who is convicted as a criminal in UK (not Malaysia) is trying to renew his/her Malaysian passport and the Embassy Officer recognise him, I am sure it'll be report ed to the UK po...

Agreed with ashishashah statement. Let's make this sticky.

Shaman, sticky means this thread is always shown at the top of this thread, so anyone can always see it and get the answer instead of posting the same thread again and again.

Hey Sharma02,

Thanks a lot for the reply! I am still OUTSIDE of UK, so I was concerned on the timeline I have to enter UK (after EC approved). Looks like the "new" ruling is 6 months now, which is inline with what was discussed in http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=9463.

Time limit for getting an entry clearance is usually mentioned in HSMP approval letter. It is 3 months if you are outside UK and 6 months if you are within UK. This was written in my approval letter at least. Not sure if it is changed now. Anyway, your question is entirely different as I understand...

I am not saying that working here illegally is such a wonderful thing. No doubt it is illegal, but at least i have cost no harm to anyone, as per my point of view. The LAW is the LAW, in this case this is an Immigration Law, NOT a criminal law. You broke the law, simple as that. Your argument is wh...

ONeway, It seems that they send the document via some sort "registered" mail, being that it's in a special "waterproof" envelope and so on. Can you let me know if there is any indication in the envelop if this are sort of "registered" mail? This is just like regular USP...

Another update: I've been working with DH USA to arrange the pick-up and they've been very helpful. However, the issue is with the DHL UK office . They REFUSED to send a local driver to pick it up because: 1) The airway bill, which I have pre-populated with all the necessary information, including a...

Thanks, Oneway. The "interview" is what I've heard around, that during the visa application, you'll be interviewed when you make the appointment. You're correct that someone with approved HSMP shouldn't have any issue, but HSMP Guidance actually said that HSMP approval is NOT guarantee to ...

Hi Oneway, So you're saying that when you apply for EC, it only took UK Embassy ONE DAY to APPROVE it? Also, you said that you get the passport and Visa (EC I assume?), but you still ahve to go for an interview appointment later (on the 31st)? Furthermore, can you provide some details on the followi...

Did you use any suppliments in addition to the standard form that they have? Your help will be highly appreciated! Thanks, From In...

Yes, it'll be very positive evidence, indeed. As you'll see in HSMP application form, there is a section that ask about what type of work you'll be doing in UK and it ask for evidence of this. THe evidence can be an actual job posting OR (better yet) an actual job offer.

Re: Change of plans after approval

My question is: If I apply to the HSMP visa including an offer letter that I got from an employer what would happen if the visa-application is accepted but in the mean time I decide to give-up and work with another company or not to work with the company that gave the offer letter???? From what I u...

Re: EC timeframe I believe that you must enter the UK within 3 months of receipt, or you may have to apply for EC again considering your circumstances may have changed. I haven't received it. There's some snafu in term of DHL UK not being able to accept my US credit card (??). So I had to have DHL US make the call themselves from US to DHL UK. That, according to DHL US, will take 1-3 days. So if all is well, I am hoping to receive everything by this Friday. You're ...

Ok, I stayed awake last night and called +441142074074 at 9 AM their time, 4 AM my time. I got through immediately and I was told that my case was approved on the 16th and that they mailed me the documents the same day. I tried calling the 6020 number but could not get through. Windmill, I used DHL to send it out, but some issue with RECEIVING the approval (see my other thread about DHL). I'd recommend UPS to ship and receive. I use DHL document box for sending it, but that's because everything fit. If your documents will be 150+ pages, then get a box. ;) I didn't use bind...

No... just have the basic 10 years working experience in 3 different countries.

I think I made my application REALLY easy for the case worker to read, with the cover letter, highlighting the bank statements, etc.

I WISH I am in the Ivy League!

DHL UK no longer accept package pick-up w/ Int'l credit card

Hi all, Somebody in this forum suggested that I can have HO mail the document back via courier (DHL) and all I need to do is to call DHL UK from US and give my credit card number. I just want to share my experience a bit: My application was approved yesterday and in the application package that I ha...

Got it.

So the clock start on the approval of EC, not on the arrival in UK. So if I arrive 10 months after the EC approval, I effectively have only 14 months.

This is kind of a good news, though, since I delay my EC application till near the end of the year to get my company bonus. LOL!

Hi Arm, Thanks for the info! I think I got my facts the other way around above. LOL! OK, just to clarify, here's my understanding: 1) Timeframe to apply for EC I have 6 months from the date of the HSMP approval letter to apply for EC I.e. HSMP approval = 08/16/06; Must apply EC by 02/16/07 2) Timefr...
