3 years?? Can you provide me with a link or something that says that? Just want to check... I did some research and I couldn't find anything that either say "Yes, you must stay for xx months" ...OR... "No, you don't have to stay...". The concession is that if you have worked with...

Furthermore, the notice state that I will receive my green card (Form I-551) in 30 days. So after I received my green card in 30 days, that means I have been with the ...

I am also asking the same question as JAJ *(moderator): you have a green card, why do you want to move to UK? I don't want to be biased or anything, but take a look at my post here: http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=14326&highlight=. I got HSMP approved in January 2007 and lived t...

All, I just completed my visa interview and it was a breeze. The interview only took about 5 minutes and the visa was approved and sent to me via courier in 48 hours. I believe the speed of the processing is because this is the THIRD time I have applied for H-1B visa. I have also worked in the US pr...

Hi Kal,

Thanks for the info. Did your friend WANTED to have the interview 5 weeks from the day he call or the operator gave him the date 5 weeks later because of the BACKLOG in the appointment time? I.e. too many people making the interview.

Kal, First, can you ask your friend or if you have setup the interview, if the appointment time takes more than 2 weeks after you call? Meaning, if I call to make an appointment TODAY, will I be able to go within 1 week or have to wait for 4 weeks, due to backlog? Secondly, is this the first time yo...

H1-B Visa interview in London: some question

Hi all, I have a job offer from a US company and they're processing my H1-B petition with Premium Processing (15 days processing time). Once it is approved, I'd have to apply for the actual H1-B visa in London. According to US Embassy website, I have to make an appointment by calling their Operator-...

The immigration lawyer they hired is a bunch of idiots. There is an instance that another employee had to leave the country because the lawyer didn't file the H1-B extension on time. The company is thinking of replacing them.

The lawyer said it's possible but never give a clear idea how.

Continuing green card process after leaving the company HELP

Hi all, I was working in the US under H1-B and my company was processing my green card application. Due to personal reasons, I left the company in February 2007. At this time, my H1-B still valid until mid 2009 (this is the 2nd application and by mid 2009, I'd have completed the 6 years time limit)....

I've lived in Indonesia, Singapore, Australia, US and UK for the past 20 years and for each country I have lived for more than 6 months. It can be tracked from the stamp in your passport. Based on the email from Home Office, being outside of UK for extended period (per my posts above) will affect only your ILR application and they can deny or approve your application.

Sounds pretty vague, isn't it?

Ang, Please correct me if I am wrong, but the rule stated in your link seems to apply for HSMP beneficiary that has been in the country for: - 5 years under HSMP, and - 5 years under ILR, and - The person is applying for naturalizations. If the rule above applies to HSMP beneficiary that JUST arrive...

6 months over 5 years... geez...

I am looking at HO website and no indication of this rule, I wonder if they changed it with the new HSMP rule.

I don't get what you mean by showing GBP 6K on the way back. What's that got to do with approved HSMP?

I have heard that once you obtained the HSMP approval, you must stay continously in UK for 5 years and not been OUT OF THE COUNTRY for more than 6 months TOTAL over that 5 years.

Is this true?
