Re: Possible criminal record

You now have a criminal record which should of been disclosed when you made the application, it is possible to be put in prison for not paying train fares. Most people who do that will get a letter stating that you may get a criminal record, a fine of up to £1,000, a prison sentence, a suspended sen...

Re: Citizenship refusal - possible criminal record

It would be impossible for you to have a criminal record without you knowing about it. If you had been caution by the police about it this would stay active for 5 years and then be spent but would show up on your record for life. But as you have not been to the police station or a criminal court the...

Re: Travel after ceremony

You can fax a copy of your BRP to the airline before you return it, phone the airline to check they have received it and are happy with it. Then get them to email you to confirm that you are good to fly.

Problem Solved

Re: Travelling on Naturalisation Certificate

Had you wanted to fly with Etihad Airlines you can fax or email them a copy of your BRP before you return it which they are more than happy to accept. Which would be a resolve around not showing it at check in.

Re: Travelling After Citizenship Ceremony

The OP maybe interested in an older post which reads: Hi All - I'm aware that this thread is an old one but I can't find a recent one on the topic and wanted to post this in case anyone was looking for an up-to-date account of travelling on a foreign passport with a UK Naturalisation certificate. I ...

Re: Travelling After Citizenship Ceremony

IA 1971 Section 3(9) requires a passport or certificate of entitlement to right of abode in order to assert the right at a port.

It should be remembered that the absence of evidence to establish a claim to the right of abode is not, in itself, a ground for refusal of entry.

Re: Travelling After Citizenship Ceremony

I know a person who entered the USA on a us visa waiver after spending time in prison, he lied on the application which is not a good thing to do but going by the previous post that should be impossible if government departments have access to a persons records which they don't they have to request ...

Re: Travelling After Citizenship Ceremony

Airlines do not need such 'direct access' to 'UK immigration files', that's not how its done. OK to board (OTB) processing (including visa/document checks) is handled by Advanced Passenger Information systems (APIS). Many airlines are now heavily invested in APIS and related systems. I would suggest...

Re: Travelling After Citizenship Ceremony

By the way, don't be so sure that airlines are unable to check whether the BRP is still active as the card has a machine readable zone (MRZ) Machine readable zone (MRZ) which allows information printed on the permit to be read instantly by machine. The ' chip inside' symbol on the front is provided ...

Re: Travelling After Citizenship Ceremony

Following a grant of citizenship your BRP will be cancelled, which means a carrier may refuse to accept it as evidence that you are entitled to reside in the UK. As all airlines do not have access to UK immigration computers at the point of check in and with being presented with a BRP which appears ...

Re: Travelling on Naturalisation Certificate

Re: Travelling on Naturalisation Certificate

A COE isn't a Naturalisation certificate. It's proof of Right of Abode. Yes I know that but in reality all that is required is to prove you are English to be allowed to enter as a British citizen and also the other part which is more relevant is! It should be remembered that the absence of evidence...

Re: Travelling on Naturalisation Certificate

It is known for a fact that and person can not be refused entry into a country they are a citizen of, so in that respect the naturalisation Certificate proves this. I just wanted to know what sort of if any delays there would be at Heathrow. Really? My understanding is that the UK has signed but no...

Re: Travelling on Naturalisation Certificate

Many members arrange for someone to open the post for them while they are away. A simple phone call from anywhere in the world is all it takes to book a date for the ceremony. :| Someone may well do that but the reference was that you have 90 days which one would assume is meant to be from receivin...

Re: Travelling on Naturalisation Certificate

The requirement to return ILR BRP after ceremony was only added to the AN form in January 2016 and I don't believe HO are currently enforcing the rule retrospectively. It is a fact however that ILR ceases to exist once you become a British citizen and the BRP is therefore immediately invalid as a t...

Re: Travelling on Naturalisation Certificate

You do know that it now needs to be returned so in my opinion you can travel at your own risk but I sure as hell wouldn't want to risk that hefty fine. Good luck buddy :-) surely if they really want the cards back they inform people until such time there is very little chance of anyone ever being f...

Re: Travelling on Naturalisation Certificate

Travelling on Naturalisation Certificate

Which she got much quicker than I was expecting. What I am asking is has anyone recently tr...
