Re: EEA EFM app. REFUSED with unmarried EU partner

Most important: we had a baby in 2015 and another will be due in few months. ... He's unemployed from 3 years, so i pay all bills and everything, and our life is extremely miserable. Immigration officials may wonder why any responsible person of good character in such a self described miserable sit...

Re: Important questions about council tax-pls help

Admittedly this was in 2014 but I lived in private rented accommodation for nearly 10 years without an official contract or paying direct bills (started out as house sitting for an employer, for £500/month rent all inclusive) and managed to get PR regardless (I had a rental contract from before this...

Re: No PR date, how to reach HO?

Congrats, Noetic , on your naturalisation. With both a Swexit and a Brexit on the horizon, I am sure this helps reduce tension about the direction of life. Indeed. I had heard of the premium service for ILR applications, if you can afford it it's surely peace of mind to get a quick decision and not...

Re: No PR date, how to reach HO?

Hi Noetic, my application has gone today. I got a response from HO 2 days after I have submited a request to my local MP (never expected they could be so efficient). It seems that the date of settlement was there all along but the guy on the HO migt have looked in the wrong field. Excellent. Yes mi...

Re: Times article - Simplified online PR form coming

EU nationals: have you recently applied for British citizenship? Not sure if anybody noticed this article in the Gruaniad . They are looking for EEA citizens who have applied for British naturalisaton in wake of the Brexit referendum to contact them. Interesting, although I am not strictly an EU na...

Re: HO approval letter but no invitation for ceremony yet!

I suspect it depends on the local authority. My HO letter said to contact the authority directly to book a ceremony, apparently Kirklees don't send out invites until you ring to confirm.

Re: Status Gap

If OP didn't have CSI or a foreign issued EHIC then the student years wouldn't count in the first place so it's a moot point? And if they did then they can be classed as self sufficient unless they cancelled CSI as soon as uni finished.

Yep..must be the case.. Interestingly (and well, thankfully), I received a text message from HM Passport Office that says things to the effect of 'your new passport should arrive within a few working days. We will send your supporting docs separately'. I take it as some kind of processing happening...

Same here, they must have a big tray for everything approved on a certain day and it sits there for a good while before being posted.

Times article - Simplified online PR form coming

Saw this in the Times today, behind the pay wall but expecting the story to be picked up by other outlets soon. Basically HO have been trialling an online simplified PR form to cope with all the applications in the next few years. http://www.thetimes.co.uk/edition/news/eu-citizens-can-get-resident-v...

Re: Naturalisation for EEA citizen, when can I apply?

You can also do a Subject Access Request for £10 to check what date HO has on record for you attaining PR, you can send that off and prepare for the test in the meantime (you should be able to use the UK degree instead of an English test).

Re: Singh route - lack of docs

Does OP need to resubmit Spanish documents for UK PR application? PR documents should be about treaty rights in the UK the last 5 years although knowing what I know from a SAR about case worker notes there's no guarantee anything about your SS journey will have been noted down correctly.

Re: No PR date, how to reach HO?

Let us know how you get on - I understand why they want DCPR document for naturalisation (makes those applications the same to process as UK immigration route as you don't submit 5 years of evidence for EEA applications) but there is so so much about how PR applications are handled that seems awkwar...

Re: No PR date, how to reach HO?

Ok have now been approved showing that the UNKNOWN status of PR date isn't in itself a hindrance. I do hope you get this sorted out - so silly not to at least include the information on the letter you get with your PR document. Having it included would hopefully flag this up when generating the lett...

Re: No PR date, how to reach HO?

Hi Noetic, my PRC was issued on 07/07/2016. I think this might not be acommon issue as the guy from HO that spoke with the Council officer has told him this was the first time he have seen "unknown" as the settled PR date. Well you and me both. Sorry re-reading the thread you did mention ...

Re: PR as self-sufficient doubt

As long as the person "paying for your upkeep" (not calling him sponsor as this has a different meaning in an immigration context) isn't a non-EEA national also wanting to apply, I don't think it matters and I don't think his passport needs to be included. CSI cover should only be needed f...

Re: Registration certificate vs Permanent residence card in

From the evidence presented the HO will work from the earliest “deemed to have PR” date. The OP can file simultaneously and explain in covering letters with each application that this is what he is doing. That's just complete balderdash. PR document is MANDATORY for naturalisation applications from...

Re: No PR date, how to reach HO?

I'm the same as per my SAR, although as my PR document was issued in 2014 NCS said to go ahead anyway. I submitted employer letters and P60s covering 2001 (although I was on a spouse visa initially and only started PR clock in 2002 when Swiss bilaterals kicked in) to 2014 and ended up with "Unk...
