Re: Translations and 'Centre of Life' for EEA family permit

You guys must be the only GENUINE Surinder Singh case on the whole board - certainly the first case of someone genuinely using this as intended rather than faking moving centre of life elsewhere for a cheap tickets into the UK.

Fingers crossed for you :)

Re: PR refused, self employed, low income, DLA

Britwiki EEA free movement rules are quite clear that people have to be exercising treaty rights among other things as workers or self sufficient with health insurance so as not to be a drain on the host nation. It isn't a free ticket to live and claim benefits wherever people please & OP should...

Since you aren't exercising treaty rights as your activity is marginal technically you aren't even here legally.

Also note that if your sponsor ceases activity as an EEA national exercising treaty rights this also invalidates your legal residence here eg your right to work and live here if she is your sponsor.

I found this invaluable, it has 2016 test questions and eliminates correctly answered ones as you go through, plus PDF and MP3 of the original material. http://ukcitizenshipsupport.com/mhome/

Particularly since India doesn't allow dual nationality. Makes no sense at all

It will be difficult for you to obtain British Citizenship without lying to the Home Office about your future intentions since you've already said you are going to move back to India for good.

Re: NCS didn't took p60s / payslips..!!Strange

The requirement to prove NI contributions for the past 10 years seems to be new and the form itself has not been updated. You should only need P60s etc to prove residence if you are an EEA citizen and therefore your passport does not get stamped - but I had to insist my P60s were copied even so. But...

Seems a moot point as if your friend has recently applied for DCPR, the documents her ex needs will be sat on some case worker's desk and may well continue to do so for another six months.

Re: referee problem - urgent help required

"Friend" is perfectly fine - if you put a policeman, judge etc as a referee it reflects better on your good character if you know them as friends rather than because they dealt with you through work :-)

Re: Applied for NON EEA PR and UKBA Issued another 5 year RC

Here's the link on the Gov.uk website for applying for an SAR with the UKV&I. The provision for a solicitor-verified photo-copy of identification is certainly news to me. Not entirely sure that is within the requirements of the Data Protection Act. The Information Commissioner's Office may need...

In the ILR forum here (I think) there is a pinned thread on how to do a subject access request. Although please note you now need the copy of your documents notarised.

Re: British Citizenship- help

With your fragile health you may well have a trail of NHS letters etc that can be used to prove residence too. If you haven't kept them, maybe a GP or specialist could write you a letter attesting you regularly saw them over the last 5 years, and they would probably make a good referee too. Read the...

Re: Applied for NON EEA PR and UKBA Issued another 5 year RC

There have definitely been cases where evidence submitted was insufficient so an RV was issued instead however in those cases a letter explained the situation. The lack of such a letter MAY mean they simply made a mistake and gave instruction to issue the wrong document OR if you didn't supply corre...

Maybe the letter is actually referring to a permanent Residence Card. Try not to sweat it until you see what turns up. OP has already received the (wrong) card. There have been cases where PR wasn't sufficiently proven and case worker explained in the letter why and issued RC instead but it's very ...

Re: Naturalisation Refused for EEA with Permanent Residency

In that case if you did not submit evidence of residence I guess you were lucky - as per AN guidance you are supposed to send passport if this gets stamped or provide alternative evidence if your passport (like with EEA applicants) does not get stamped in or out. This includes P60s, employer letter ...
