Re: Fast track SAR for PR date?

Yeah I need to do the same guys, I phoned HO and they cannot provide that info via phone. Do you reckon NCS can confirm the actual date with HO? I read that it is not compulsory for them, please advise 'cause NCS is the best shortcut. It will take ages with the SAR form. Really depends on the NCS t...

Re: UK Absences How do I answer this queation

I'd just go back as far as you can, at least 6 years to ensure PR date is a year in the past in case you're going for citizenship.

PS I didn't have Email in the 80s...

Re: After becoming a British Citizen - Who needs to be updat

Think I'll take my passport into the branch this week to get it changed, there was no option online and when I contacted them they said as long as I'm still resident here they don't care, but it doesn't seem right to me.

I tried that but they weren't interested. Even though I'm sure nationality is one of the details they hold on you.

What nationality is this? There are some that don't allow dual nationality but I'm not aware of any agreements whereby the UK passport service takes it upon itself to destroy your passport!

And I suppose you can't get her an ID without her passport... Did you include a self addressed stamped envelope with your application? I'd recommend paying to get your mail redirected for at least 6 months. Then when you get the confirmation letter you can request passport back and scan it for the c...

This is the form I used, although admittedly not whole an application was with HO. I know from my SAR that both changes were received though. https://visa-address-update.service.gov.uk Problem is my mum doesnt have a copy of her passport while her passport is with the application.. Re: After becoming a British Citizen - Who needs to be updat

Careful, she'll set the Corgis on you... I can't find an option for notifying HMRC of a change of nationality on their online form, does anyone know how to notify them? Another thing is if your original country allows dual nationality you may have to notify them, otherwise you'll definitely have to ...

Re: Can I travel while awaiting my PR? and other questions

It takes some getting used to because almost all other forums expect you to add to threads on the same topic rather than start your own. However with immigration matters it really helps if people can see all your info and issues in one thread as that means anyone responding can see the whole picture...

This is what I was referring to. So if OP has lost their original nationality what happens to the ILR status? Does it get retained/can it be transferred to their Austrian passport?

I was under the impression a manager of a department (eg job title is X manager) wasn't what they meant, but instead an owner or director of the company.

Re: I need advice

To avoid confusion, I assume this is a general (hypothetical) question as Kazakhstan isn't in India :| Yes it is hypothetical - India not allowing dual citizenship is well known even to the Home Office case workers and I know there aren't any exceptions (which there may be for Kazakhstan). Dependin...

Re: I need advice

Genuinely curious though. When you become British your ILR in a foreign passport becomes invalid especially if it's in a passport that ceases to be valid when you become British. (Since you're a British citizen now) So if you have ILR in an Indian passport and become Austrian or German, and thus cea...

My own approval letter was dated 8 days before I got it, others have 10-15 days difference so it isn't impossible but it does seem to be quite a long time now. Can the council contact HO directly to ask?

Re: I need advice

Since the BREXIT I am more keen than ever to get the UK Citizenship. Do you still hold the non EU passport and citizenship under which ILR was granted? If yes then you don't need to worry about Brexit. (Except its economic fallout that we all have to worry about) However a quick Google reveals that...

Re: British citizenship -retain worker status in treaty righ

If you are married to a British Citizen you can apply straight away. If not you need to do a Subject Access Request (search this board) to find out what PR date the Home Office hold on you. As long as they have comprehensive sickness insurance for the family the non EEA income can be used as proof of self sufficiency.
