Re: Special Need child now adult

Has she passed the LITUK test and English test or is she exempt due to disability? To prove residence documents from her school would be good, although her passport should technically suffice to prove residence. The requirements have changed since I applied and they now ask about evis of NI contribu...

Re: AN Form BC - Referees

Hi all, I am wondering why GP (Doctor) doesn't count as a referee? Please, advice. Regards, You'd have to ask the Home Office why they dropped them from the official list - however people still seem to be accepted with GPs as referees. http://www.immigrationboards.com/british-citizenship/profession...

Re: Effect of Brexit on British Citizenship for Non EU Citiz

Unless OP intends to join Crown Service or another of the exceptions listed above (which would explain the need to be a British citizen) I guess? But unless that is the case then yes OP wouldn't be helping themselves at all with such a letter, instead confirming initial impressions from the long abs...

Re: Almost divorced Non-EEA wants to apply for Family Permit

Non-eea dad has no rights whatsoever, thats my conclusion, with all the replies im receiving. If non EEA could have been bothered to apply for retention of residence YEARS back when he actual...

How long has your spouse been looking for work? There is a limit to how long this counts as exercising treaty rights.

Re: Developments on the Swexit front

Looks like at least one passport will still allow me free movement after Brexit... On a serious note it is thanks to this vote that I applied for my PR document back in 2014 and ultimately applied for citizenship here after having every edition of the LITUK books since about 2005 so at least somethi...

Do keep us updated - I certainly know I would have gladly paid £100 to not have to be without important documents for months - including P60s and employment contracts etc. I'm assuming those will also be copied there.

Re: Almost divorced Non-EEA wants to apply for Family Permit

. Does the HO website not mention, a retained right of residence can be obtained even though a marriage has broken down? This only applies if you've actually resided in the UK with your spouse for a certain amount of time, not when you've left the country for many years already. Eg if you had been ...

If you'd applied for a passport straight away you'd already have it by now (not much use I know but goes to show the importance of not putting things off!)

Re: Naturalisation Refusal

I agree typing out the wording with names and addresses omitted seems best.

Were you out of the country 5 years before your application? Although the last time someone here reported missing this requirement HO did notify and return payment, asking them to re-apply a bit later.

Re: Naturalisation Refusal

Qualifying period for naturalisation is the five years leading up to your application. (Unless you are married to a British citizen then it is 3 years)

Without seeing the exact wording of the refusal it'll be difficult for people to understand what may be going on.
