I believe so - although your wife may wish to naturalise too!

Why are you supplying 3 years of payslips? If it is to prove residence (non EEA) are you applying as the spouse of a BC?

Re: Times article - Simplified online PR form coming

Looks like this will be going hand in hand with an NCS style local council service https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/european-passport-return-service Hmmm, looks like it is going to be more complicated: first you need to taka a day of work for the appointment, then pay an extra fee and then...

Re: Surinder Singh Parent: Living both in Ireland & UK

Since your centre of life moving is the whole point of Surinder Singh I wouldn't think you'd get away with lying about living in two places.

Why not try getting everyone settled in Ireland as if they naturalise there they will automatically be allowed to live and work in the UK regardless of the EU.

Re: New policy regarding passport names for dual nationals.

Excellent news & agreed on the Lords, lack of pandering to party politics and having in depth interests and expertise makes me uncomfortable about an elected Lords. MPs are mostly too worried about getting re elected (and those that work hard and engage in their special interest subjects, like J...

Re: UK Citizen with EU unmarried partner - Which form route?

Unless you used Surinder Singh it's form EEA QP. The OP probably won't actually have used Surinder Singh yet. That starts with EEA(EFM). Of course, if they've been living together for two years in another EEA country, the OP probably has met the conditions for Surinder Singh. Since OP's partner is ...

They have been known to get answers out of the home office for people, yes. Really depends on the MP though (although they are all meant to do their job of course!).

I'm sure you don't need to provide all the naughty details but at least it will help to prove the relationship leading up to the marriage.

They can refuse you but not for enquiring about the outcome of the application.

Can you get your MP involved as I'm not sure your solicitor is being very helpful.

I'd reapply with the evidence they asked for eg emails and chat histories - that seems to be the kind of evidence people have submitted with these sorts of applications.

Re: UK Citizen with EU unmarried partner - Which form route?

As you are British your partner needs to be exercising treaty rights in her own rights. If she doesn't work but is here supported by you she is self sufficient. If this is the case, or she is a student, then she needs comprehensive sickness insurance.

Unless you used Surinder Singh it's form EEA QP.

Re: English requirements for British nationality

Personally I found the experience a bit embarrassing having been in the UK more years than I care to remember. Quite, it did grate that I spent £150 on what basically boils down to a ten minute chat, but I'm also very much in favour of people wishing to settle having basic grasp of the language*, I...

Was your degree fully taught in English as that's a requirement if taught abroad.

Since they cost the same I'd opt for the B1 for £150.

Re: Can we apply for citizenship?

If you provide them with all travel documents you ever used to enter the country they'll know each time you entered (because passport or ID gets scanned) but that doesn't tell them when you left every time, depending on where and when you left. (EEA nationals generally don't get their passports stam...

Re: time between Naturalisation and Passport application

If you're in such a hurry why not pay for a private ceremony which will be a lot quicker? If you apply for a British passport straight afterwards you should have your passport interview before your public citizenship ceremony would even have passed. You should certainly get your original passport ba...

"employee" isn't a profession in that context anyway. And yes both can be on the professional list as long as at least one is a British citizen. But if one is just an employee then they need to bea British citizen.

Is this correct? What is your partner's current immigration status? Has he already got a residence c...
