Re: In which cases do kids born abroad to a British Mum need registering as BC?

Cheers guys, when Googling this you always end up at "Children born outside the UK You may be able to apply for your child (under 18 years of age) to be registered as a British citizen, for example if you’re a British citizen but your child was born or adopted outside the UK." Thankfully t...

In which cases do kids born abroad to a British Mum need registering as BC?

When do kids born abroad to a British mother need registering as British citizens and when don't they? A member of our German group asked about getting a passport for two German born young children, one born before and one after marriage, to a German father and British mother in Germany but now resi...

Re: Dual national, document proving permanent residence

Doesn't document certifying permanent residence refer to the official DCPR document you apply for after 5 years of exercising your treaty rights in an EU country?

I've had this happen before too, only ever with this site. I wondered if it's to do with accidentally clicking on one of the adverts, over whose contents the site presumably has no direct influence.

Does the fact that India does not allow dual nationality affect anything in a case like this?

Re: Refusal to issue PRC because I had no comprehensive insu

But if I apply as a family member of my mum, would I be able to apply for British citizenship straight after? I really want to get my British citizenship granted to me so I can vote. How you got your DCPR doesn't matter for this, as long as you get it, and the Home Office manage to note down the co...

Re: Refusal to issue PRC because I had no comprehensive insu

Cool, sounds good guys. Thanks for your help, I will apply again as the main applicant with my mum acting as a sponsor from when I was 16 until 21 years old. Just one more question, after I get PRC granted to me, do I have to wait another year to apply for British citizenship or can I apply for it ...

Re: Student Applying for residency

Sometimes it is possible to get PR with a letter (translated?) from your country of birth confirming you were covered by them / entitled to an EHIC, even if you no longer have the card in your possession. I don't recall seeing Italy mentioned in the examples but it's worth a shot.

Re: AN Form filled by EU National

I received my DCPR, which states the date of issue "12 Dec 2016". Together with the document, there was a supporting letter stating "Date you acquired permanent residence status: 28 August 2014". That is a very useful piece of information and seems to be a change from previous H...

Re: German in the UK. Married, self-sufficient, no CSI cover

There is sadly no Home Office guide to what CSI is ok - which is silly. Just do keep in mind that it is possible that, should Brexit go ahead as planned, a German EHIC could no longer mean anything in the UK. Your retirement falls several years after the end of the two year negotiation period if Art...

I used the date I came here on a spouse visa as when I came here as a student my plans were very different and I had not intended to settle. I explained this and both dates in the extra text field at the end.

Re: WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE CEREMONY, AND HOW TO APPLY PASSPO

At the ceremony you are given your certificate and a welcome pack from the home secretary (mine was from the PM as they hadn't updated it yet) which includes a form to register to vote as well as a passport application form.

Hi ohara, Thank you again for your reply. You mentioned about PR clock being set to zero. In my wife's case she has been here since Oct 2010 so she already has passed the 5 year period. Can she apply for PR based on this, although she is not a qualified person as of recently? If yes what would be m...

If she also qualifies for Irish citizenship I'd later get that too. You just never know when an EU passport will come in handy given where the economy in the UK is potentially heading.

Why would you tell her to wait? She's allowed to work and working full time makes it more likely she counts as a qualified worker, why would you tell her to wait?

However Logistics, Import and Export will also be severely impacted by exiting the single market (which is looking increasingly likel...

It also helps prove residence for people whose passport doesn't get stamped on arrival - if this is the case then payslips would also help to cover the time since the last P60.
