Your British partner can't be your sponsor as you are not here under the UK Immigration Rules. In order to qualify for PR as self-sufficient you would need CSI to cover the 5 year period. Sorry, I misread it. If the HO interview you both, they will take a dim view if he's entered as a visitor with the intention to marry.
