So they've made it retrospective again. Guys, could you kindly explain this part: has had the permanent permission for the whole of the qualifying period of the document http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitecontent/documents/policyandlaw/immigrationandcitizenshipbill/draftbill/draftimmigrationbill....

Dear friends, there are two bad news. 1. Dr. Imran Yusaf, one of the people who filed the BAPIO case, has taken his own life a few days ago. It's a crashing, devastating news for all of us, and it underlines the destroying impact of the new reptrospective rules on people's life. 2. Today we found th...

Re: My UKR wife taking our UK citizen child on holiday

EU citizens, including British, don't need a visa to go to Ukraine for up to 90 days. So, they are free to enter and free to leave the country. Usually there aren't any problems at the airport except the queues are becoming longer with every coming year. I assume your baby is too young to have a pas...

Alien, I'm really sad to say this, but I agree with you on most of the points. I do have an association with VBSI and tried to write to them expressing my concerns regarding the way their decisions are taken, regarding transparency of their behaviour, etc. Not sure my point was taken though. Maybe I...

chibuya, guys at VBSI are all non-professionals in this area. Just engineers, scientists, etc. who try to orginize themselves to defend immigrant's rights when they have free time. There are very few of them btw. No more than 10 people I think. Or even less. Come and do something at VBSI, I almost b...

Dear chibuya, write to info@vbsi.org.uk and become one of the VBSI members also. I feel that without you in VBSI there won't be any legal advice or court case lead by VBSI. Ever. Make the difference after all! I think we need to find a right lwayer - to get some real legal advice and this could be l...

Dear alien, write to info@vbsi.org.uk and say you want to become one of the VBSI. They're very much in need of the people like you right now. Has the VBSI actually taken proper legal advice? As the purported "voice" of immigrants can it at least say to those immigrants that it has or hasn'...

Eh... Sorry, I think you missed the point a bit. So far Shephen Kong's approach is to sue them and Christine Lee's approach is to negotiate with them. a11 several times tried to put us away from SK and supported LC's aprroach. He even told that to his best knowledge SK is a bad guy who harmed CL onc...

May I ask which precise instances do you mean? I want to find out more about those situations and check their circumstances to compare with ours. So far I know only about an opposite (winning) example with the doctors, when HO agreed to revise its desicion rather than continue with the court hearing...

Re: further comment about JR

Oh yes. It was repeatedly stated in 'Highly Skilled Migrant Programme (HSMP) Revised Programme effective from 31 October 2003. HSMP Guidance'. Look: ----- To qualify for settlement in the UK you must have spent a continuous period of four years in the UK except for short holidays or business trips. ...

Do we have a postal address that we can use as a permanent VBSI address? Or at least an address which we can use for receiving the official letter from VBSI in discussion? =========================================== From: Stephen Kong ... Perhaps, for the sake of formality, Harvey Son & Filby ca...

No, I havn't :). But maybe I have not expressed my concern clearly. Will try one more time. - if anyone has really brought a court action against HO regarding this case? So far it's only mouth-to-mouth information. I'm not a lawyer, but I think there may be several ways/levels of doing it. For examp...

Early June + six weeks is about now. We should expect to hear from Stephen shortly... It could be his firm, but I am not sure. SSI, thanks a lot for the update. I think we all here aprreciate it a lot. Right, guys?.... Guys!... There were lots of people a couple days ago. Where is everybody? Anyway...

I have talked to a guy from VBSI and he said:"We are already in contact with these people. We'll help them, but we believe that a) no so many chances to win the case; b) even if we win, it will happen no earlier than in 2-3 years". I tried to explain why it's so important to persue the cas...

Guys, appologies if you know it already, but VBSI and CL are collecting petitions to Tony Blair calling for the new rules to be disapproved. Currently, about 5000 petitions are collected. At least 5000 more are needed for submission. Please write a petition in a free form, ask as many people as poss...
