Re: life in the uk test

Life in the uk test is the name of the app on Google playstore, it has a union jack icon and the main screen when downloaded is a red phone booth - it really helped me

Re: life in the uk test

The books are extensive and have a lot of irrelevant information - I downloaded an app for free from playstore that had 40 mock tests and it was all I needed

Re: Spouse Visa Regarding Employement

Thanks for your reply. Do you mean a threshold of £18,600 for over a year.? Yes that's correct, I was employed full time for 4 months before I went for mine but had a years worth of payslips from agency work for the rest of the year to meet the threshold. The only difference being if you are employ...

As long as you meet the threshold over a year and provide evidence you are fine.

Re: Spouse Visa while visiting UK

No issues what so ever, I had a 6 month visitor visa, stayed for 9 months (not recommended!!!!). But it had no affect on spouse visa application. Just make sure you have all your ducks in a row when it comes to the paperwork....

Re: Spouse Visa while visiting UK

As long as you can meet the financial requirement and evidence of a subsisting relationship then applying from NZ is pretty straight forward. I have just completed the process, once you have the relevant documents done and visa and IHS paid booking biometrics can be done within a week and then docum...

Re: Settlement "Wife" UK Visa

I applied in August from New Zealand for a spouse visa. It had to get sent from Auckland, NZ to Manila in the Philippines for processing. We paid for the premium service and had everything back within 3 weeks. I sent email enquiries and got a generic response each time and had mixed updates when I c...

Re: Search/New topics/my posts

I clicked the link and it says I am not permitted to use the search function. I don't have an option to "view my posts". I have no other options next to my user control panel. My wife also has view unread posts etc. I have nil, only way to navigate is via board index. My wife said hers wer...

Re: Search/New topics/my posts

I have the search function available but as soon as I log in it dissapears. I am on android (the same device as my wife) and when I am on PC it is the same with none of those options, thought it might be my user settings or something?

Search/New topics/my posts

Hi all, can someone please let me know how to get the search function activated and also have the "view new posts" to use. I also can't "view my posts". Curious if it's a manual setting or tools that are added for individuals. Kind Regards

Re: Info about marriage and spouse visa

As Casa has already mentioned, you cannot marry "online" and the marriage needs to be recognized as legal by UK standards, you also need to have met in person. It will also be beneficial if you have lived together in a relationship akin to marriage. Get the first steps first and keep docum...

Re: Can one get a free immigration lawyer while in detention

Yes, I had a free solicitor while I was in a detention center and also a meeting with home office which was actually valuable. As a result of those meetings I had enough information to determine where I stood and what my chances were. I did not stay long enough to continue seeing them (got the next ...

Re: Visa type and category for wife to join husband in UK

When I completed my application I went in order of the boxes on the right hand side, confirm/sign application/book biometrics etc. The payment for Visa and IHS are separate, I paid for each of them and had email confirmation as such. If she is travelling alone (like me) and you have selected the cor...

Re: Visa type and category for wife to join husband in UK

If your wife is joining you then she needs to put - Settlement - Settlement - Wife, I applied to join my wife a few weeks ago so I was - Settlement - Settlement - Husband. Sorry I can't help with any other point, my IHS payment was the amount I was expecting it to be, no children, no one else travel...

Re: Spouse visa Cat A or B

Obie is correct, if OP was on a salary he would be getting the same amount each month, if he was on a salary of 40,000 as an example OP would get 3,333 a month. Salary takes all bank holidays etc into account and is an annual "salary". Because OP is on a varying wage each month he is a non...

Re: Spouse visa VAF4A form

Just so I understand a bit better, you are married and want your wife to apply to be with you in the UK? If that is the case then the visa option for your wife would be - Settlement - Settlement - Wife. I opened my account late July and completed my application last Thursday and all went through fin...

Re: Spouse visa communication evidence

Hi nidu19, I am applying next week for my spouse visa, we too were unsure as far as evidence goes so are submitting pretty much what you have but our chat history is going back 18 months to prove it's subsisting and also photo's together and also with my wife's family and friends. As they say, it is...

So together with chat messages, wedding pics, pics together, flight tickets, receipts, accommodation bookings, r...

How much chat/messaging info to provide?

Hi all, Brief history: I was in the UK last year (from NZ) on a visitor visa and didn't want to leave my partner so ended up overstaying....My 6 months was up in August and I was detained in November. I purchased my own return ticket to NZ as soon as the option was available. My partner came to NZ a...
