90 days leave in last year when applying for naturalisation

Hi, I received my Set LR confirmation on 10th Jan 2023, so I understand I shall be eligible for applying for naturalisation on 10th Jan 2024. My query is related to 90 days leave in preceding year (year between ILR and BC) - I have vacation to home country planned in Sep'23-Dec'23 which equates to 8...

Re: Child's first British Passport - grandparent details

Hi, Based on the guidance I have now made an application for British Passport (BP) for my second born. Now my first born who has his MN1 approved this morning (due to receive the reg cert) is also eligible for BP. Re: Child's first British Passport - grandparent details

One more question for the passport please - Child's mother Indian passport doesn't have a surname, only first/given names as A B C During birth registration, the councillor as per UK norms put mother's name as Given name - A B C Maiden/Surname - A B C In the passport application - what's the best wa...

Re: Child's first British Passport - grandparent details

Thanks, both of you. Much relief indeed as getting GP's documents would have been a serious uphill task. I will send my ILR BRP and Indian passport (just in case) along with birth certs as asked. Silly question - Is there a way to submit a digital copy instead of sending physical documents to HMPO? ...

Hi All, I received my ILR through 10 year Set LR route in Jan'23. Mother is on PBS. Re: 30 hour childcare - one parent on ILR

Sorry, I dont wish to muddle this discussion - but I have a question related to original post of mine. I applied for 30 hour free childcare yesterday (having received ILR 8 days back) for my child who is still on Tier 2 Dependent visa with MN1 being filed tomorrow. I am aware that this benefit is su...

Naturalisation query for ILR spouse

Now that I have my ILR granted in Jan'23 and my son applying MN1, only my wife remains. She is on PBS and will complete her 10 years in UK in Mar'24. Assuming that I am able to apply successfully for naturalisation by her Set LR eligibility, what would be the route available for my wife - a) Will sh...

Re: Set LR application submission date

Well my employer went ahead with the ECS checks and received a positive feedback from HO - so they (employer) granted me an employment extension for 6 months by when I have to provide my share code. Unfortunately, the share code to prove RTW is showing wrong data so hopefully I will keep following u...

Re: 30 hour childcare - one parent on ILR

Thank you everyone - so my interpretation of the given links and highlighted excerpts is that I can ahead making application for 30 hour childcare - and it won't impact my wife's Set LR application in future. I am just wondering why the NRPF site mentions childcare as not a public fund, but the chil...

30 hour childcare - one parent on ILR

Hi, I recently received Set LR application approval (ILR) and my son who is born in UK is turning 3 years in Feb. Re: ILR Status in Right to Work site is incorrect

I am in the same boat with ILR granted but new BRP showing older status expiring 22 Jan'23. I have called UKVI this morning and they have registered a case for technical issue. Not sure of any ETA though. Seems asking Employer for manual checks as stated in one of the answer above is the only way fo...

Re: extending leave in UK by MN1

Hi,

Thank you. I understand now.

So only implication is of not having free NHS access. My wife has a family medical insurance via her company (child's name included), so I understand we should be able to go private route just in case if this is required?

Thanks.

Hi, My child, who was born in the UK, is having his current dependent BRP on 22 Jan'23. He has a TIER 2 ICT dependent visa on my wife's. I have now received ILR this week and planning to file for child's naturalisation by putting an MN1 application to HO. The application is expected to be made befor...
