Re: Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI)

Hi All, Our daughter was born in June 2021 in the UK. My wife and I both have ILR but we are Indian citizens. With our immediate goal to visit India in mind, we have two options to get the necessary immigration clearances for the baby - 1. Get British passport and then get OCI 2. Get birth register...

Re: Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI)

Hi, Can anyone please tell me if the documents we upload in the OCI portal need to be self attested? Or is it just for the physical copies we carry to VFS appointment. It is just the physical copies you submit to VFS. Only scans of original documents are meant to be uploaded to the portal. Thank yo...

OCI for a minor - Student ID?

Hi,

We are applying for the first OCI of a minor. Anyone know if the Student ID is mandatory? Our child is in school but do not have any ID cards. Is there any alternative proof we can provide?

Thank you.

Re: Child's registration application approved - what now?

How do you plan to prove you have parental responsibility without a birth certificate? Birth certificate is mandatory otherwise HMPO will ask you to send which will delay the application. That seems to be the case, yes. The online checklist has no mention of it though. Strange but not at all shocki...

Re: Child's registration application approved - what now?

Yes - (original) to prove parental responsibility. Also, if I am correct you will need a consent letter for the child. Does the checklist ask for it? Thanks mate. I just finished the online application and the checklist is: - Citizenship Registration certificate. - Passport used to enter UK - Any c...

Re: Child's registration application approved - what now?

A follow up question for the Gurus. We have now received the Citizenship registration certificate for the child. Child is born abroad before parents got ILR ; so registered under 3(1). I've found the following list of documents we need to send to HMPO in various posts in the forums. 1. Citizenship R...

Re: Child's registration application approved - what now?

You will get child’s registration certificate at the ceremony when you will attend your’s. The child does not need to attend ceremony, they will hand it over to you. You can apply for a British Passport after that. Yes this is needed. Check list will let you know about any other documents needed. T...

Child's registration application approved - what now?

Hi Gurus, We are a non-EU family on ILR with a small child born aboard. We just had our group citizenship application approved and waiting for the ceremony letter. It looks like our child's registration certificate will arrive fairly quickly and I just wanted to confirm our next steps. 1. Once we re...

Re: **** COVID19 Biometrics appointments and UKVCAS ***** (Discuss here ONLY)

Your history tells that you (& child) submitted application via IDV app on 6/9. The reminder letter was issued on 31st Oct which is after the deadline as per UKVI account. The generic reminder usually comes a month before the deadline which is not the case. Also, the child is only 6. Last time ...

Re: **** COVID19 Biometrics appointments and UKVCAS ***** (Discuss here ONLY)

This seems like a generic email. However, UKVI may request anyone to submit biometrics in person after IDV app if need be. Make sure its not that? Hi. I called up UKVI and they confirmed its a generic email. Phew!!! I received the very same email on Thursday as well. Was hoping to see that someone ...

Important:
From 21 September onwards, ALL customers will need to book an appointment at one of our Service Points. The IDV app will only be available to some T4 students
That is concerning. I just hope they didn't mess up leaving us IDV app users in limbo.
