Spouse extension

Hi. My wife's first FLR(M) was issued 7th Oct 2016, and is due to expire 5th May 2019. My understanding is that we can actually apply for the extension from 10th March, which is 30 months less 28 days from the issue date. We want to apply for the priority 24 hour service but want to make sure the ex...

Re: FLR M extension

Thank you for the swift reply. So if were applying online via Premium Service, could we start the online application and book the appt before the 28 day marker as long as the appointment is within the 28 days, or does the whole process need to start within the 28 days. Sorry if I'm not explaining my...

FLR M extension

My wife arrived in the UK on a fiance visa in April 2016. We applied for and received her FLR(M) visa later that year (from the UK). The dates on her BRP say issued 7th Oct 2016 valid until 5th May 2019 - that's 30 months and 28 days. Does this mean we can apply for the extension from 10th March 201...

Re: FLR(M) waiting times 2011-2013

UPDATE So after much toing and froing my MP finally got a response from UKVI about why we are being called for an interview in Sheffield. To recap: - we applied for a FLR(M) in June (switching from fiancee) - got a request for additional evidence of 3 bills in Aug - got an 'invitation' for an interv...

Re: FLR(M) waiting times

**UPDATE** Why on earth are they requesting this when I sent them a full financial year (2015-2016) of payslips and bank statements?! M The same thing has happened to me. My wife applied for her FLR(M) from here in June (she came over on a fiancee visa in April). We sent everything. Our application...

Re: 'Deport first, appeal later' - Spouse Visa?

The cost of appeal is going up to over £800 (500% increase) as of Oct 11th I think.

Re: Sheffield interview

Hello. If anyone has any experience of attending an interview for their spouse visa in Sheffield please let me know what happened and what the outcome was. To recap, my wife came over on a fiance visa and after we got married we applied for the FLR(M). If you have been in a similar position please s...

Re: Sheffield interview

Hi. We are permitted to take a legal representative with us for the interview. Has anybody done this? Is it recommended?

Re: Sheffield interview

No it isn't, that would be discrimination, which is illegal. I know, we're just frightened. Would you know what our options might be if the visa is refused? My wife's fiancee visa ran out at the end of Aug. Would she have to return to her country immediately? We're just thinking of what our plan B ...

Re: Sheffield interview

Hi. Yes we both have to go. My wife arrived on a fiancee visa so loads of checks were done then. After we got married we applied for the spouse visa. Several weeks after our application we were asked for more evidence of cohabitation, so we sent what was requested. That was at the beginning of Aug, ...

Sheffield interview

After weeks of hearing nothing we received a letter today inviting us for an interview in Sheffield (we're in London). In summary, my wife arrived on a fiancee visa back in April and after we got married in June we applied for the FLR(M) Cat A spouse visa. I know we shouldn't worry as we have done e...

Re: Advice required for making a complaint or escalating

my wife is switching from a fiancee to a flr (m). She is already here in the UK and we applied by post. The service standard is 8 weeks. so even though I have read on this and other forums that people who applied at the same time or after us have already got their visas, I should not be overly conce...

Advice required for making a complaint or escalating

My wife is now into week 12 of her application for switching from a fiancee visa to a FLR(M) cat A. In week 7 we were asked for further evidence of our cohabitation, which we provided and which was signed for. We've heard nothing since and despite my numerous calls I am getting no information as to ...

Re: FLR(M) waiting times

I have a pretty straightforward FLR(M) application, nothing that should be complicated, my dates are: Visa application submitted/sent: 17th June 2016 Payment taken: 21st June 2016 Biometrics letter received: 1st July 2016 Biometrics taken at a post office: 4th July 2016 Still waiting as of 11th Aug...

Re: FLR(M) waiting times

As I've already mentioned, your wife's visa doesn't expire while the application is being decided. You should be given the right of appeal from within the UK in the event of a refusal, or you can re-apply (paying the fee again) submitting the relevant supporting evidence. Hi. Sorry, I understand th...

Re: FLR(M) waiting times

Your wife's legal status as a fiancee remains valid while the FLR(M) application is being processed. The main issue is that she will be unable to work until FLR(M) has been granted. Thanks. She's not actually going to work, well at least not for the foreseeable future - she doesn't need to. What ha...

Re: FLR(M) waiting times

Thanks. I told them that their website says that if a decision can't be made within the 8 weeks they would send a letter explaining why and what would happen next. The person on the other end of the phone said we will probably get that letter this week. I'm not holding my breath

Re: FLR(M) waiting times

Did the 0300 number tell you if you have any opportunities to complain as the service standards have been breached? or any other possible remedies? Nope. I asked if my enquiry could be escalated and was told no we would just have to wait. It is so frustrating. They don't seem to understand or care ...

Re: FLR(M) waiting times

Still no news. Almost 10 weeks now since the application was received (postal UK) and 8 weeks since biometrics were done. I don't understand, people who applied after us are getting their approvals. Calling the 0300 number is a waste of time, they acknowledge they've gone over the service standard b...

Re: FLR(M) waiting times

Still no news. It was a postal application in the UK and biometrics were done on 24th June - 8 weeks tomorrow. Thought it would be straightforward considering we were switching from fiancee to spouse. Oh well, the wait continues.

Re: FLR(M) - postal application received

In my experience if you have posted within the UK then you will receive a letter confirming receipt. This would be followed by a letter informing you of the process to get the biometrics done. My timeline for these initial steps was Application sent 14th June Application signed for 15th June Applica...

Hi Amieli88. We are in the same position. Applied around the same time you did, got asked for additional info (evidence of cohabitation since wedding which was a couple of weeks before!) a few days ago and sent it back (tracking says it was received by Sheffield 11th Aug). Now waiting for an answer....

For postal applications within the UK when does the 8 weeks start, from date received letter, fee taken date, biometric registered date, or something else? Is it 8 calendar weeks?

Re: FLR(M) application - a few questions

Hi Arunsk & Driver27. I am going through a similar situation right now. Have you had the outcome of your application? The only thing we can submit is a council tax bill and a downloaded version of a water bill and a gas/electricity bill.
