Re: Naturalisation Application as a pensioner: some queries

Thanks for all the replies. One more thing... Regarding both NA form and Passport application form: My mother has to state details of her parents (date of birth, town, etc). The problem is that her parents were born at the end of 19th century, in different parts of the former Russian Empire; her fat...

Naturalisation Application as a pensioner: some queries

Dear all, I'm filling in the naturalisation application form for my mother, who is 71 years old. She has lived in UK since 1997 (she claimed asylum then), and had ILR since 2004. My questions: 1.17, addresses for past 5 years: in what order do I list them? Starting from the oldest one going to the c...

Is an Email address compulsory on the Naturalisation Application Form?

My mother is 71 years old and she is applying for British Citizenship, she lived in UK since 1997 and had ILR since 2004. I'm filling in the form for her and was wondering what to do about the Contact Sections, regarding email address, and also mobile phone number. She does not have an email address...

Re: Mistake by the Nationality Checking Service

Hi, thanks for your explanation regarding my 2nd question. Indeed my other thread talks about this. I am anxious because the NCS agent has ticked "yes" for the answer to "Have you been in breach of immigration laws at any time since Your first arrival in UK". This is on the NCS c...

Mistake by the Nationality Checking Service

Greetings! Today I have applied for naturalisation and British passport via the Nationality Checking Service. I have two main questions. First question. At the end of my appointment, the NCS agent gave me copies of several documents: completed NCS document checklist for my application, NCS client ca...

Re: Lost previous passport 10 years ago. Should I state this

Thanks. Another question. ( I would make a new thread, but told not to by the moderator). I am also submitting a passport application together with the naturalisation application, via the Nationality Checking Service. For section 4 of the passport application form, "Parents' details", I ha...

Re: Lost previous passport 10 years ago. Should I state this

I checked my passport issue date again, and actually it was issued in 2008, not 2006, so only 8 years ago. Does this affect anything at all, or can I still safely ignore the lost passport prior to this one? Another question. How do you guys attach the passport photo? Is pritt stick sufficient, or do...

Re: Employment record as a full time PhD student?

Hi to all, so I verified my employment record as a PhD student with both universities. Indeed, I have a record stating that I did ad-hoc work as a demonstrator. However my official occupation is a PhD student. I did not pay any Income tax, but I paid national insurance contributions. My last job (at...

Lost previous passport 10 years ago. Should I state this?

Hi. I was in UK since 1997 as a minor (my mother applied for asylum), then received ILR in 2004 due to government amnesty. I have ILR Home Office letter; I never had ILR stamp in my passport. My current passport was issued in 2006. The previous passport which I held from 2004 to 2006 was lost; I wen...

Evidence of residing in UK for 5 year qualifying period

Hello to all. I am uncertain as to what kind of evidence is actually required for the 5 year qualifying period in my case. I have ILR since 2004. I was in full time education for ALL this time till present at UK institutions (school, then undergrad degree, then postgrad degree, and then one more pos...

Re: Proving legal status in UK prior to obtaining ILR

My belief would be that it should confirm the date of when you were granted ILR, and also your entry into the country - the latter which you say you don't have any evidence of as you were a minor at the time? It may show the date you & your mother were granted asylum as well. But for some reaso...

Re: Proving legal status in UK prior to obtaining ILR

What happens if I apply without SAR, and they decide they want more info? Would they write to me requesting more evidence? The advantage of making a SAR in before you apply, is that you will know what they have on record and can thereby make a informed decision around your application. Thank you fo...

Re: Proving legal status in UK prior to obtaining ILR

Suggest seeing what's on your file at UKVI by requesting a SAR. Thanks. I had a look at the document my mother was issued. It an official Home Office stamped document that states that she has applied for asylum in 1997, and that she is accompanied by one son (that is me). My name, date of birth and...

Proving legal status in UK prior to obtaining ILR

Hello. My situation is this. I have been in UK since 1997 (when I was a child). My mother moved here with me then and claimed asylum approximately two weeks later after arriving in UK. Our country's passport allowed us to fly freely into UK (visa was not required). In 2004, me and my mother were gra...

Re: Employment record as a full time PhD student?

Perhaps because I received my NI number on a letter when I obtained my ILR back in 2004, and they haven't updated the records? (This letter is the only written document I ever had that states my NI number). Am slightly confused by this underlined statement, or it may be I'm misreading what you atte...

Re: Employment record as a full time PhD student?

Do I have to state NI contributions on my application? As far as I've seen its not required to be stated on the form. But if you read the AN form guidance (& if not Id suggest that you do so) you'll see it says you must provide details of all your NI contributions made for your current and prev...

Re: Employment record as a full time PhD student?

As you have a NI number, just a suggestion to verify if you have a HMRC NI contribution history over the last 10 years, even if you paid no taxes. You should be able to do this by registering online for a personal tax account using your NI number. You can then see if you have any NI contributions l...

Employment record as a full time PhD student?

Hello, on the naturalisation application form, I have to state my employment record for the last 10 years. I have been in full time higher / further education since 2005. For the first 5 years of that 10 year period, I have been a full time undergraduate student, with no employment. Then for the las...

Life in UK test expiry date?

Hello to all.

I have passed my Life in UK test at the end of May 2016, and intend apply for naturalisation this September, so there will be a gap of about 4 months between me passing the test and the application date. Is this ok? Is there any time limit relating to this?

How to attach photo on the citizenship application form?
