Re: Spouse is an Overstayer

I think there’s has to be more to this story, clearly for him to have been refused on suitability grounds means that there’s some sort of criminality involved.

Re: ILR Life in uk fail

There’s Life in the UK app you can download on your phone to practice with. Keep practicing and also the app will tell you which areas you are not doing well on and you can concentrate on those areas. Once you are more confident you can retake the exam. Passing it would save you money rather than pa...

Thanks all, I also didn’t think there would be much hope due to the very long absence.

Can ILR granted in 1978 be resurrected?

My partner’s parents lived in the UK in the 1970s. Her father arrived from Nigeria in 1972 as a student on scholarship. My partner and her immediate older sibling were born in the UK in 1975 and 1979. They are both British citizens. Her parents obtained ILR in 1978. The parents returned to Nigeria i...

Re: FLR(FP) Application time

Can you provide the email address you used to contact them please? Thanks Hello Kamsi, Wow, that was fast. People are waiting 10 months and over. What's the magic? When you emailed them, which email did you use? Did you have to escalate? I also applied for a fee waiver in January which was fully ac...

Would you be entitled to a refund as the application will not be treated as a super priority? I hope so.

Re: Spouse visa but stopped at UK border?

Being stopped shouldn’t be a problem in future as exactly the same thing you’ve narrated happened to me in 2017 when I was returning from the USA. I had had my visa curtailed in 2016 and was given 2 months to either make a new application in a different immigration category or leave the country. The...

Re: Fee waiver application

Two months after applying for fee and IHS waivers and having not received a decision I emailed the Team last night to chase it up and received a decision today.

Visa application fee waiver was rejected but the IHS was accepted. I currently work for the NHS and have done so since 2013.

Re: Huge Black Hole Visa Delays ?!

And to add salt to injury you would have paid nearly 3,000 pounds for the application and more if you add legal fees.

Lately I’ve become really angry with the system. I’ve lots of sympathy for those who are just starting this brutal journey of 10 years route to settlement.

Re: Right to work

You’ll be allowed to continue working provided you submitted a fee waiver application whilst your visa is still valid, that’s before 11/03/22.

Fee waiver application

I applied for a fee waiver a month ago and still waiting for the outcome. I wanted to ask if anyone has applied recently and has an idea how long it takes to process the application.

Secondly are decisions of the application communicated via email or letter.

Thanks!

When will I be eligible for ILR

I’ll not be eligible for ILR through Long Residence route until some time next year but trying to work out which month. In a letter dated 7th May 2013 I was informed by the Home Office that I had been granted limited leave to remain under the 10 year route to settlement (this was following the July ...

Fee waiver application turn-around

Hi all, I will be submitting a fee waiver application in the next 3-4 weeks and I wondered if anyone knew how long it’s taking to hear back after the application is submitted. I know that no two cases are ever the same, it would give me an indication of how long I would be waiting before getting a r...

Fee waiver application timeline

I am due to submit an application for leave to remain extension in January 2022 but prior to that I’ll be asking for a fee waiver.

Does anyone know how long it’s taking to consider fee waiver applications (i.e from the time the request is submitted and to when a reply is received from UKVI)?

Re: 10 year private life route visa

Just to help reassure you, you can apply for ILR once you’ve completed 10 years (which will be in July 2022) even if you still have time left on your current visa. In fact you can submit your application 28 days before you’ve completed the 10 years period. I am in similar situation as you, I was gra...

Re: how does best interest of a child ruling impact on FLR (M)

You are worrying unnecessarily, providing you meet all the requirements just as you did with the first application I don’t see why your application wouldn’t be approved. Rather than hinder, the Supreme Court case and other case laws in relation to the best interests of children is actually a positiv...

Re: FLR(FP) Application time

It’s a total rip off and because it’s immigrants that are affected no one seem to care including the Parliamentarians. I called the Home Office customer services 2 days ago and the lady I spoke to said she didn’t work for the Home Office and her job was just to give general immigration advice, she h...

Re: FLR(FP) Application time

I made an online application on 24th May for the extension of FLR (FP) and provided biometrics on 28th May (2 weeks and 4 days ago); however I am yet to receive an acknowledgement letter from the Home Office. My leave to remain expires on 30th June, and for me to continue working beyond this date my...
