Hi, My wife and I both have Indian passports. Our (recently) born baby has a British passport . I was considering applying for a PIO card for her and was unsure of the documents I require (as there are many options on the PIO form). Q1: Are these documents good enough: 1) British passport of daughte...

Birmingham PEO - No win no fee? Iffy ILR case...

It seems from various posts that Birmingham PEO charges fees after assessing the application, if the application is not satisfactory they don't process it and don't charge the fee. Anyone had this experience? i.e. ILR application got rejected and no fee charged. I'm trying to determine which way is ...

Re: Tier 1->ILR->Naturalisation or Use spouses Work Pe

Anyone? Hi again Diago! Was just trying to assess the risk of choosing between 3 (Tier1->WP Dependant) and 2(HSMPOctober2006->Tier1->ILR). (3) is risky if my wifes ILR (with me as dependant) gets rejected for some reason (I can't see any, but still there is always a probability!) I can maybe ask for...

Re: Work Permit Dependant Visa - Processing times in India

Good link. Thanks.

WP Dependant is not equal to settlement right? So I'd probably fall in the "Other Non-Settlement" category. Thanks again!

Work Permit Dependant Visa - Processing times in India

Hi, I'm currently on a Tier-1, but am planning to go to India to shift as a work permit dependant on my wife's visa. She is eligible to apply for ILR now, and being a dependant I can then apply for the ILR immediately to. Anyone has any recent experience of getting a Work Permit Dependant visa in VF...

Re: Tier 1->ILR->Naturalisation or Use spouses Work Pe

Thanks for the reply. Yes, wife's visa is definitely a work permit as it was last renewed Feb 07, before the Tier-2 stuff kicked in. The "Type of permit" on her visa says "Limited leave to remain". My "broken residence" case is a bit complex, so I was having a difficult...

Re: Tier 1->ILR->Naturalisation or Use spouses Work Pe

Hi all, I'm trying to figure out the most efficient way for naturalisation for me. Although I first became resident in UK on 11-02-2005 and been here since I've been told by Home Office (email query) that I've broken residence and my 5 year period starts 18-10-2006). Luckily my wife also came on he...

Thanks woodie. I had confused the operator at work pemits with this. It seems this is not documented anywhere. They assume an in-country application to be FLR(IED) instead of ECed via emabssy.
cheers

Hi, Give a call to the work permit phone number. I did that recently for a similar case and the officer told me that now a days you can immediately start work with the new employer as your visa gets updated by the home office. You would need to apply for the visa/flr before the existing one expires ...
