Entry from Ireland to UK- Reporting Entrance? (Surinder Singh)

Hi everyone! My family are planning to move to the UK, which is where my husband is originally from, through the Surinder Singh route as I'm Canadian, but we've been living in Ireland for the past 3 years. I was told that I could apply for a Residence Card from within the UK and since I'm Canadian a...

Surinder Singh Processing Times?

Hi everyone, My husband (who's originally from the UK) and I are planning on applying through Surinder Singh from Ireland, but we can't seem to find the average processing time. I've heard it can take upwards of 8 months to process. Does anyone know of any information that might be helpful? Thanks i...

I would email them to find out. They're usually pretty quick to respond!

Waiting period after sending EU1

Hello all!

I'm almost ready to send away my EU1 application.
How long does it usually take to hear back from them to send you to get registered? I'm asking because my initial 3 months are almost up. I just need to know if I'm okay to stay here as soon as I send off the application.

Re: Extension past 3 months?

Sorry, I should've worded my question differently.
Since my husband is a UK citizen, he can automatically stay as long as he wants in Ireland.
My question is if I can extend my right to stay here longer than 3 months while my husband is still seeking employment.

Extension past 3 months?

Hi there, My husband from the UK and myself, a Canadian citizen arrived in Ireland on January 15th this year. He was hoping to exercise his EU treaty rights by finding employment so we could live here together permanently. We have our rent, bills, bank accounts, etc all registered here in Ireland no...

Re: UK Citizen bringing Non-EU Wife

So can she start working pretty much as soon as I do? Or does she have to wait after 3 months to apply for a residence card?

Re: UK Citizen bringing Non-EU Wife

I thought there were no restrictions for myself working as I'm from England. Is there a way I need to prove this or is my passport enough?

Re: UK Citizen bringing Non-EU Wife

I've read through all of that before, but I still have some questions. From what I've gathered this is what she'll need to do... 1. Enter Ireland and present passport, marriage certificate and proof of finances 2. Be issued a permission to remain stamp 4 3. Report to the Garda Station 4. Be issued a...

UK Citizen bringing Non-EU Wife

Hi there! I'm just hoping to clear up some confusion I have with the process of bringing my Canadian wife with me to Ireland. I myself am from England, so I know that it's pretty straight forward for me. The only information I can seem to find is someone using their EU treaty rights, so does that st...

Re: Working in Ireland before Temporary Stamp 4?

Sorry, I just realised I confused the residence card and the temp stamp for the same thing. So does the Temporary Stamp 4 get issued the day you arrive to the immigration office and then you can work? I'm so confused.

Working in Ireland before Temporary Stamp 4?

Hello! My husband who's a British citizen and myself, Canadian, are moving to Ireland in mid January. I'm just trying to sort out a to do list because I know there's quite a bit involved in the moving process. Am I able to work right after I've sorted out a PPS number or do I have to wait until I've...

Temporary Pass?

My husband and I are currently in England together. He's from England and I'm from Canada. We're planning on making a permanent move into Ireland in January once my visit is up here. I just have a few different questions regarding my rights as the spouse of a UK citizen. I know I have to fill out th...
