You are not alone matey. I have applied (joint application) in April 2006 & still waiting. Its been 18 months now. I know few other people who has been waiting for more than 10 months now.

I do not have any criminal records or any other offences.

It's no coincedence that most of the people who have reported quick turnaround times for their naturalisation applications appear to be from Commonwealth countries.
But....I'm from a Commonwealth country. :cry:

certain nationalities take longer than others because of security checks. Dawie, Are you saying that they don't do security checks on certain nationalities. I thought they do for everybody regardless of the nationality. I can understand the delay if they write to organisations in those countries. B...

If you have all the stamps in the passport for the last 10 years, don't waste your money on agents. I did mine as 10 year legal stay and got my ILR 2 years ago.

I just read all the pages in this discussion & It seems most single applications through NCS were processed within 4 weeks. Does anybody know the timelines for Joint applications?

Has any of you shorten your name in the application? I have a very long name with some names I never use. NCS told me that I can drop some names if I want to & I did. Its been above 4 months now & I'm wondering whether its because of that.
