Re: Appeal Successful.

Thanks for the response and the advice, that's very helpful, I will look into immigrant council. I was surprised they even tried the rejection in your case given the fact you'd never claimed Irish citizenship, glad things resolved themselves. In my case i'm hoping they would have no call to question...

Re: Appeal Successful.

Hi Billy, congrats on your appeal. Can I ask did you move simply from Northern Ireland to Ireland or did you live elsewhere first? Do you think its the fact you declared yourself born in Northern Ireland that gave them the red flag to initially reject you? I'm a dual British/Irish citizen and I am c...

Re: Moving to Ireland - Visa Options

Interesting, very similar story then. I've been self-employed rather than working in ESL, and though likely meet the requirements financially, i'm also concerned about proving this in paperwork. That is my plan A as you suggest, though I don't believe the financial issue comes into play for claiming...

Re: Moving to Ireland - Visa Options

Hi peachtea, thanks for the comment, its nice to at least hear from someone in the same boat. At least we can both say we have options here! Have spent a long time looking through the archives of this forum and there have been a few others in similar situations who have taken a few different options...

Re: Moving to Ireland - Visa Options

No responses yet, which is a shame. Historically I see lots of people posting on here who have been in a similar position with dual nationality, any input would be much appreciated. I will probably take some legal advice on this but if anyone has an input on the idea of arriving on the EU route and ...

Re: Civil Marriage Immigration

Thanks, I posted in the vague hope they might at some point return and update. perhaps they will receive a notification about this topic :)

Lots of threads on here seem to die without an update on how things ultimately went, which is a shame

Re: Civil Marriage Immigration

Hi Irishguy86, I am in a similar situation as a dual-national British/Irish looking at visa options on moving to Ireland. I am married to my partner and we are living in his country in SE Asia. Since you posted in May 2016 I just wondered how you got on in the end and what route you took? Cheers, Ni...

Moving to Ireland - Visa Options

Hi everyone, Have spent a great deal of time reading through threads and following everyones experiences here, it's been an incredibly useful resource considering how contradictory some of the information found online can be. Fantastic to hear people's real life experiences. Our situation is this: I...
