Re: Hi people EU1 registration question

You are fine, my husband was in the same situation with the visa expiration, but so long as the EU1 form has been submitted you dont have to worry, you are legally entitled to be here and it won't be questioned at your appointment.

I see, thank you. My sister applied in august and nothing from the inis not even an acknowledgement letter.
Sorry to hear that, what is her situation? Is it an EU treaty rights case? Have you tried contacting INIS?

Re: Visa for UK while on Temporary Stamp 4/Stamp 4 EUFAM

Hi @niallpp Please if you don't mind me asking did your husband have any status in the state before Applying? Please Hi Wifeofaking, before July we lived together in his home country in Asia. We travelled to Ireland together, he on a C-visit visa (based on EU treaty rights), then submitted the EU1 ...

Re: Visa for UK while on Temporary Stamp 4/Stamp 4 EUFAM

Thanks for the response. So we are covered even travelling to my home country under the freedom of movement law? Is this something you usually have to put up a fight about? Will the carriers (be it flight or ferry) make a problem? I've read mixed responses about this on this forum and others, though...

Visa for UK while on Temporary Stamp 4/Stamp 4 EUFAM

Another question for the Immigration Boards hive mind: Firstly, our situation is as follows. I'm a UK passport holder living and exercising my EU Treaty Rights with my non-EEA husband in Ireland. We arrived in Ireland in July 2017, sent off EU1 application at the end of Sept 2017, and my husband jus...

Re: GNIB Registration at Burgh Quay Dublin

So, relatively painless experience in the end and stamped through to end of March 2018 (though I imagine we may need to return if the EU1 residency applications are still taking around 9 months). Tips from me (and friends) about this process for others: - Worth downloading that GNIB application from...

Re: GNIB Registration at Burgh Quay Dublin

Wow, just got notification from my app (at 11pm!) and booked an appointment for tomorrow morning. I would recommend anyone else in the same situation download this "GNIB - Ireland" app and switch on notifications - looks like the last minute spots get released all through the day and evening

GNIB Registration at Burgh Quay Dublin

Hi all, Having filled in an EU1 application with my husband and just received a permission letter for him to register with immigration, I now see there is a huge shortage of appointments at Burgh Quay. I'm not sure if its just the time of the year (student registration?) or the general backlog but i...

Re: EU1 form and Registration query

You need to send the EU1 form by registered mail to the address stated on the form. In about 2-4 weeks you will receive a letter inviting you to register and telling you what to bring for the appointment. You should not attend the registration until then. Don't worry about the timing, as long as you...

Re: Couple of questions

Becoming Irish zero help for permanent residence, everyone has to wait 5 years. Your wife gap in residence may require an explanation if longer than 6 months for naturalization. In switzerland you got to wait 12 years I think this is actually incorrect. As a spouse of an Irish citizen your wife sho...

Re: Arrival in Ireland (with Non EEA Spouse) - Next Steps

It is now almost 2 months to the day since we entered Ireland and there is a month left on my husband's entry stamp. We finally have PPS numbers, bank accounts (both business and personal), I have registered for income tax, income transactions (self employed) have not yet registered on my business b...

Re: British Citizen to Ireland Need your help please

You need to work or study to make use of Freedom of Movement rights. You can't just go there and live on savings. It would need to be a minimum of six months anyway to really stand a chance of using the SS route. Actually treaty rights allow for residing on 'sufficient resources' though you will ne...

Re: Arrival in Ireland (with Non EEA Spouse) - Next Steps

Hi Confused 1, Unfortunately I don't think you are able to take advantage of this same route because you live in England. I presume you are a UK passport holder? This guide is very useful and makes the free movement rules fairly easily understood: http://ec.europa.eu/justice/citizen/document/files/g...

Re: Arrival in Ireland (with Non EEA Spouse) - Next Steps

Just to update this, we ended up opening a joint account with Permanent TSB who accepted Passports and A Virgin Media TV Statement in both our names as proof of address. They seem one of the more reasonably priced banks (i.e. don't charge for ATM withdrawals or Debit Card payments as some banks seem...

Re: Arrival in Ireland (with Non EEA Spouse) - Next Steps

Successfully applied for PPS numbers today, for both of us. They were very friendly and helpful. Aside from ID document (passports) and proof of address (used tenancy agreement) we also had to show some evidence of intending to be self employed, so the guy who was handling our case filled in most of...

Re: Arrival in Ireland (with Non EEA Spouse) - Next Steps

Thanks for the further responses. Is the best approach to the PPN situation going to be to suggest my husband also needs the number to register as self employed then (which he is intending to do as soon as he is able)? If he technically has the legal right to work under EU rules then presumably he s...

Hi, Thanks for the info. I've booked an appointment for us both at the Welfare Office to try to get the PPSN (in 2 weeks, when we will have a signed property contract). I will take the approach you suggest, but what will be considered a reasonable reason for my husband to request a PPSN? Presumably ...

Re: Arrival in Ireland (with Non EEA Spouse) - Next Steps

Hi Dupalsky, Thanks so much for your response, much appreciated. It is definitely overwhelming so trying to take your advice and do things step-by-step! Arrival in Ireland (with Non EEA Spouse) - Next Steps

Hi all, I posted previously asking about options for moving to Ireland with my husband ( In this thread ). We ultimately opted on the EU free movement route. Initial short stay visa took a while to process (through Vietnamese embassy) but ultimately arrival was smooth. We arrived on 5th July 2017 an...
