Re: General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Pro

I was hoping if someone could help me regarding passport processing after attending citizenship ceremony. I applied via JCAP and attended my ceremony on the 8th March. Today the Passport Office told me that the application is still under review with examiners, but the person on the phone advised tha...

Re: General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Pro

And two days after the post above, I am very happy to share that I received my approval letter this morning. I am well chuffed as I write these lines. This forum provides a rare degree of support and invaluable advice and I wholeheartedly thank CR001 et al. for their efforts in providing accurate in...

Re: General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Pro

There is no standard timeline. It's a combination of things: - complexity of the case - type of documents provided - caseworker (velocity, holidays, sick days etc...) I absolutely agree with that position that no general trend can be attributed to approvals. Sometimes it really is a matter of which...

Re: General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Pro

It transpires that the November applications are coming through the approval stage now. The approvals seem to following no particular trend. Some late November applications appear to be approved weeks before the early November applications. My council was very helpful last week when I called telling...

Re: General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Pro

I have been looking at the timelines and it is interesting to note that so far there have been no approvals for November applications. Of course, this may be because people have not posted their updates yet. In the November thread, I came across only one approval received on 23 Dec. I imagine the Ch...

Re: General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Pro

Despite having just applied in November, I called the council today to see whether they have received my certificate. They were so nice and helpful. The lady on the phone said that today she had not seen my name, but she will call me tomorrow to confirm. She gave me the direct email and her name so ...

Congratulations MrsGreenside - this is great great stuff. I tried finding your timeline but could not. When did you apply? Thanks. Hello everyone, just a little update. Re: General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Pro

Newbie0203, MrsT and MrsGreenside, I was initially under the impression that EEA are being approved faster, but this was merely because, as Newbie0203 said there was a wave of EEA that came first followed by non-EEA. CR001 has also said that there would not be a differentiation between applicants. E...

Re: General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Pro

This is a question to the veterans of this forum: Based on your experience, how does the Christmas holiday impact the processing of naturaliastion cases? Are they significantly more delayed than other times? Essentially, given that it currently takes about 4-6 weeks from biometrics to get approval in...

Re: General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Pro

Some of the recent posts on the naturalisation timelines suggest that it is 30 days + 1 between biometric enrollment and approval. Not counting the receipt of the decision letter.

It will be interesting to see whether there are more such posts :)

Re: General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Pro

I've noticed. They might have hired additional staff due to higher volumes of applications, or maybe they're just working quicker to get more applications approved or refused before Christmas? Does anyone know (maybe someone who has been on the forum for a few years) whether processing times decrea...

Re: 5 years increased to 10-20 years for Naturalisation?

Legitimate Expectations The application of this doctrine to the Immigration Rules was confirmed by the HSMP judgment of 6 April 2009. Unfortunately I can not seem to find a link to the judgment, but broadly, as I understand it, it states that if the person has started an immigration journey on a sp...

Note that Long Residence ILR does not, to the best of my knowledge, come under legitimate expectations, though I could be wrong on this specific point.
Could you please clarify what you mean by the legitimate expectations and why does Long Residence falls under this category in your view?

Re: General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Pro

I was more referring to the general updates that come on each April on immigration rules, which may, for example, affect how long one needs to be on ILR before applying for citizenship. There have been multiple speculations that this would be increased from one year to three but this is nothing con...

Re: General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Pro

[/quote] Remember that immigration rules and naturalisation rules are entirely unrelated. The rules for naturalisation are laid out in an Act of Parliament and are much harder to change, while immigration rules are laid out in statutory instruments (laws made by ministers). The government will be ab...

Thank you to both respondents - really appreciate it. On another note, does anyone have any indications as to how the naturalisation process will change in April 2017? Re: General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Pro

Hi Everyone,

Quick question regarding Acknowledgement from the UKVI/HO.

Do people receive a letter or an e-mail? I notice some people receive a letter others an email. Is there a reason?

Is it possible that EEA receive an email and others a letter?

Thanks.
