Hello! I applied for my first passport on 19 January and received the letter inviting me to an interview on the 27th January. It may be silly but I have this daunting feeling that I forgot to sign the declaration form. If this really was the case would they still invite me for an interview or would ...
Where did I write that HO pays for the letter? :?: the customer provides a pre-paid self addressed secure envelope as advised in the AN Guidance document I don't understand why I am being scrutinised by yours and CR001 replies. I am just providing the info I received from UK immigrations. Although I...
No disrespect but this is the FOI request and the reply from UK Visa and Immigration and apparently you can request all communications to be send recorded. Question: Please could you provide information on why citizenship approval letters are not sent tracked but 2nd class? In busy times like Christ...
I am not claiming that this is something new, CR001. I am merely trying to be helpful and add a bit of information because some people were concerned about lost letters. If my help is not required please let me know and I shall refrain from posting
Re: Return of Documents As there was (and is) some frustration about Home Office returning sensitive documents and even the approval letters via untracked 2nd class mail I asked FOI to clarify why this is their methodology. Here's their reply: Due to the cost and resource required to manage a record...
As an EEA member myself here's what I have done and what your husband should do: 1) Remain in the UK for 5 continuous years and exercise treaty rights. After these 5 years he must apply for a Permanent Residency Card for EEA Nationals: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/apply-for-a-document-...
Add the one you remember and add a note stating that you do not remember exactly. You could also request your personal data from the UK Visas and Immigration with regards to absences. However, be advised that they cost money, take time and may also be incomplete. https://www.gov.uk/government/public...

Hello everyone, just a little update. Yesterday I spoke to the Home Office helpline and got told they could not look into my file because 6 months have not passed yet. I asked how I could find out if a letter got lost and the gentleman said I would receive a letter from the Home Office informing me ...
The council in Tyne and Wear will not be informed by the Home Office . It works differently up here. We get the approval letter and have to contact the council ourselves. They have no immediate involvement .
What MrsT said. I, for one, am still waiting and I am an EEA National and applied 14 October. I think at the moment everything goes slower than usual, no matter where you come from. Home Office in holiday mode
except in case of EEA route which I think is relatively quicker I am afraid I have to disagree here. Currently there seems to be an even split when you look at the October timeline. Also, recently approvals are not coming in order as well. I did biometrics on 18th Oct and my case is straightforward...
That's what i said...? " Why have you used your birth certificate " The OP hasn't mentioned using a birth certificate. Of course not :) but the only document that could still state GDR is their birth certificate. Had they used their passport upon registering for the LitUK test the problem...
I know right! I would appreciate an email AND a letter, especially because of this time of year and possible strike action. Even better still an insight into the application process, i.e. an online account where you can check where it stands. With today's technology this could even be an option!
Why have you used your birth certificate as source for the birth location at the LiUK test? Or was this done by the centre? If so I would hand in my birth certificate with a note that the GDR became BRD on 3rd Oct 1990. I cannot see this being an issue. After all it's still the same country.
With regards to the question what happens if the letter gets lost in the post it's been said here that one is supposed to call the council as they have confirmation of approval. Be aware that this is not the case for every council. This is only the case for councils who get in touch with YOU about t...
